I get the certain countries. My Sis left yesterday to vacation in Vietnam, Cambodia and few other neighboring countries. Me, mouth open and the desire to say But Why? Granted my memories and knowledge of those countries are from my childhood, maybe it is now the mecca for tourism now???
Vietnam and neighbouring countries are all very beautiful with an interesting culture and a rich history. Most people there practice Buddhism and have a very different approach to life as Westerns.
Not only did it enrich my life having visited these countries it was also a lot of fun.

In just 5 days the rest of us will be jealous that you will be in the most magical place on Earth. ;)

Ha! Touche, my friend! It's almost time for our trip! I'm really nervous though. I hope all my planning pays off and we can relax as much as possible. The weather is going to be insane though. Lower 80's and higher humidity. I'm going to be dying :hilarious::hilarious:

You will have a great time and when you get too hot you can just go swimming. If I didn't have my own family Christmas planned I would be very jealous.

It's hard to disassociate historical events we lived through with the countries they happened in. Iraq is a beautiful country too, rich with historic landmarks and ruins of cities from biblical times. I would love to go back, but you couldn't pay me to do so without armor and a weapon. I can't imagine thirty years from now going there on a casual vacation, but it could happen, I guess.

I am considered gen x. I have issues with the whole breaking people down into these categories because deep down it is our personalities, morality, and upbringing that make us who we are. Some people just have a need to put everyone into groups and thus offer no leeway from those groups. If you are a millenial you act this way, a baby boomer this way, the greatest generation this way. Like Depeche Mode said, people are people. You have good and bad, etc. It does not matter what year you are born. Circumstances are different for everyone.
I agree that it is impossible to paint whole age groups with the same brush. How you are raised, your intellect and attitude make a person, not the decade you were born.

Good morning! We are back from FL. We had a great trip. No drama going or coming back (@Mr Ferret 88 ) ;)
It was a bit cool at night for FL. Hopefully, we aren’t getting colds. My DH’s voice is in and out. My throat was scratchy yesterday morning. Everyone seemed to have runny noses and coughs there.
I will post some pix once I get a handle on this laundry and grocery shopping.
Hope everyone is well! :)
