Or you know, you could just add a squirt of mousse and embrace the curls.
I wash my hair every second or third day. Takes me 2 minutes on the day I wash it (after it air dries) and 30 seconds the day(s) in between.

I can spend two minutes on my hair or 30 ... looks the same either way.
Y'all have seen enough photos to know that the only thing that varies slightly is the length.
I can't do that.

With my hair, either ya blow dry it, or it frizzes.

And I absolutely hate my curls. I've been considering getting a permanent straightening treatment for the summer because of how much I hate my curls. I look ridiculous with curls. I've hated my curls ever since I was a kid. My mom would help me blow them out.

I can't do that either. The longer my hair is the more of the waves pull down naturally and blowdrying and flat iron with Beadhead removes most of it. If I leave it alone I resemble someone who just rolled out of bed.

Summer when it is humid I pull it straight back and tie it up 'cause if I am outdoors the humidity wins no matter what I've done.

I have some friends who just moved from Brantford to Huntersville, NC.
She just posted a pic of her son doing the "happy dance" for a declared snow day tomorrow.

Her comment was that back in Brantford, 1" of snow isn't even worth clearing your windshield for ... let alone closing schools.
We got less then an inch. Just a dusting really, but, because it was accompanied by freezing rain the roads are absolutely awful. The real problem is that the highway department does not ever go out until after the event and even then they don't know what they are doing. So a dusting with Freezing rain around here is the same as 4 feet of snow up north. I always felt that during the summer months they should send those in charge up to visit northern highway departments to learn how it is done. Or maybe even in the many snow events that the north has that never touch the south. They really need to be taught. Here they spread brine on the road about two days before the event. Most of the time it rains before the snow thus washing away the brine which wasn't going to amount to anything anyway. At least they try I guess, but, it just isn't very effective. We have to let nature clear stuff out. No one really complains because everyone is happy for the day off.

I just looked out my window and all but one of the residents cars are still parked. Not much productive happening in the state today.

Blah! Any chance they will close down before your class?
Well, it's no longer snowing, and considering it opens in 3 minutes, my guess is no.:grumpy:

They're actually on par with most of the colleges around here. My school had to close because the second campus is in a historic area, and the back roads over there don't get cleared as quickly, so they have to close when other schools can remain open just because it's not safe for anyone to get over there, and everyone, including residents, has to if they have classes over there. Plus my school is further west, so they usually get colder temps and more snow than this other school does.

But it's one class and then I can come home. So I'll deal with it.

Sometimes in places that don't get a lot of snow public officials jump the gun and other times they just know how bad some people are at driving in snow when they are not used to it.

I've found it is lots of media hype often, especially when they are issuing dire conditions long before the storm is going to hit.

A few weeks ago when Boston first was hammered but it was ultimately only a moderate storm for NYC, I understood. It really depends on the winds as the storm hits, hard to tell 24 hours out even. We get that here in Northern IL 'cause of Lake Effect snow. Depending on how it hits if it wraps around the lake, sends it back to the Mississippi and hits a second time, other times it sails over the lake and doesn't wrap. It can double or triple the snow we get or don't.

I was on an expressway on Sunday during flurries but I could see way ahead consistent, sudden brake lights. Ultimately it was the real snow line. I went from wet pavement on the expressway to an inch of snow on the road the rest of the way home. Funny thing is it was exactly at the county divide line.

I blow mine out most of the way, and that way, when it does curl, because it will as soon as I go outside in the summer, it just curls without frizzing and it doesn't curl as much, so I don't end up looking like a bush.

I would rather my hair just be straight. My stylist says that a treatment would last between 3-4 months, which would cover me for the entire summer. My parents and I have been seriously talking about it. My dad complains about my hair in the summer and likes it better in the winter, so he might help me out with the cost of doing it. We'll see. We have been considering it, though

I guess the consolation prize is you have the afternoon to catch up on some of the homework. Be Safe.

My girlfriend does it 3-4 times a year. It is kinda harsh on your hair though. Try a couple of at home hot oil treatments before you go and have it done to build up the moisture in your hair. I did that before I had a reverse perm to help tame my hair.

Love the Monica Geller Big Hair episode.

This is what they need to do which is becoming a typical pre-event treatment. A tank truck is much cheaper to pretreat all those roads than having to have salt and sand onhand. It is quick to apply and have seen them put it down 24 hours in advance of a storm.

It makes cute stripes on the road, but, is otherwise useless if put down to early. It may be cheaper, but, almost 90% ineffective.

Maybe depending on product. What they use here works very well even put down 24 hours in advance. They now sell the products for homes. You put it in a spray container like for weeds and put it down on the driveway and sidewalks. It says put until storm or until it rains and washes it away.

Initially when it starts to snow it melts at the striped area then as the liquid snow and melt mixtures oozes to the other areas of the road it melts that too.

The bonus of this is helps keep the ice from bonding with the road. Our county has been using this product for about 5 years now. Very effective, like night and day from the roads treated with it vs those not.

Boy, don't know what to say about that, you were there so you win that debate! Da Mouse with the picture said the lawn in that section was astroturf. It was on the homepage/news of this sight and Undercover had some photos too. Could this area be more coming off the Tomorowland vs Main St.? Looking at the castle from this angle it seems to be. I'm working off what others had said and photos though, nothing trumps being there like you.

It looks like some of the walls are down with guests in there but clearly see other major walls still up.

aaa yes that area.
That as been open since the first time I went to WDW this year.

The other areas surrounding this are still walled off (the moat and the water area near the tomorrowland terrace, and infront of the bypass area)
the other side was still walled, but from the photos I took.. it was almost ready to reopen.

I shared this last year - our brine solution contains beet juice.
We can't afford to close down every time we get freezing rain or icy roads.
Clearly it's best to stay out of freezing rain if you can; but sometimes you're already out when it starts, and other times, you just have to be somewhere.

Yah, Jack is one powerful dog, too. He's not a fan of big snow, though. He's confused by it all . . . :hilarious:

The only time I saw Walt who loves snow confused was when we had a massive massive snow 4 years ago with drifts to the facade level. The doors had 4 feet of snow and he was able to squish out and into a one foot shallow drift to do what he needed to and under the picnic table to turn around. He looked at me like what were you thinking woman? :jawdrop::joyfull:
