They had those walk through security scanners at my interview today and those security wands.

I got beeped at my left wrist and the guy's like "Do you have a watch"?

Me: "I have a metal plate in my wrist."

Security: "Oh, I have those too but in my knee. Carry on."

Beeping in a private business but never through airport security

My girlfriend does it 3-4 times a year. It is kinda harsh on your hair though. Try a couple of at home hot oil treatments before you go and have it done to build up the moisture in your hair. I did that before I had a reverse perm to help tame my hair.

Love the Monica Geller Big Hair episode.

I'd only have it done once per year, so it wouldn't be too bad. My stylist has me using argon oil conditioner right now, so my hair is very healthy right now. She says it would be far less damaging than using my flat iron all the time (which is what I was doing for a while but had to lay off).

Until it thunderstorms. Then they'll have to start running buses.

Yeah, safety first. I hate when Disney stops running their boats to DTD and the resorts because the buses they add are never enough. I've been very fortunate, I've never had to take a bus at Universal from the Portofino Resort to the Attraction port or back.

well.... good excuse for a remodel, rebuild and improve!

Yep, will never be the same. That section is 95 years old. Somethings just can't be replaced with rebuilds and call it an improvement. I look at the Catholic Cathedrals we have here and the builds they have created in the last 50 years. Can't say they are improvements over the 100-200 year old structures.

Insurance companies rebuild with current building practices. As Example my roof boards are thick long boards. New building practices nail up much thinner pressed boards of some sort. If my house had a fire they would never rebuild it with the quality of materials it has. My house has thick plaster walls, I question if they would replace that type of wall either.

I shared this last year - our brine solution contains beet juice.
We can't afford to close down every time we get freezing rain or icy roads.
Clearly it's best to stay out of freezing rain if you can; but sometimes you're already out when it starts, and other times, you just have to be somewhere.

We used beet juice and brine too before the country switched over to the de-icing process. Either would be a viable solution for these southern areas that don't get hit too often. Both are a concentrate and can be shelved until need unlike salt and sand that must be ordered and stored. Our Salt House for our plow cost a fortune and the machine that loads the trucks for our little Hamlet cost over $100,000. They use to load the trucks with a bulldozer which worked but was just time consuming to pull the trucks off that long during a storm to reload.

aaa yes that area.
That as been open since the first time I went to WDW this year.

The other areas surrounding this are still walled off (the moat and the water area near the tomorrowland terrace, and infront of the bypass area)
the other side was still walled, but from the photos I took.. it was almost ready to reopen.

They say February 28th some will open. Other areas apparently need a lot of work. I haven't been seeing as many daily updates of the Hub as the dang hat seems to drawn those local photographers.

My BIL has a plate, he carries a copy of an XRay after a couple events when bored or over zealous security detained him. Many major airports have body scanners which will show the plate (and everything else.) The screws in my DH's knee show.

We went to see Spongebob yesterday. The time we had chosen was sold out so we grabbed some dinner while waiting for the next showing. Went back to the theater with a half-hour to goof off. Got to the counter and the manager told us there were five seats left, which we took three and a couple behind us bought the last two. The movie was okay but I wished there was more computer animation where they were superheroes. Other parts I'm pretty sure the writers were on crack because even my daughter was saying, "What...the heck...was that?"

I am looking forward to seeing Home. I can't look at the alien without thinking of Sheldon. :)

SpongeBob, along with Stuart Little 2 - the only two films during which I have fallen asleep.
Snooze for 20 mins ... miss the time traveling part (?) with the dolphin ... then imagine how many "what the heck was that" you get. :hilarious:

Maybe depending on product. What they use here works very well even put down 24 hours in advance. They now sell the products for homes. You put it in a spray container like for weeds and put it down on the driveway and sidewalks. It says put until storm or until it rains and washes it away.

Initially when it starts to snow it melts at the striped area then as the liquid snow and melt mixtures oozes to the other areas of the road it melts that too.

The bonus of this is helps keep the ice from bonding with the road. Our county has been using this product for about 5 years now. Very effective, like night and day from the roads treated with it vs those not.
Right and in theory that is how it is supposed to work, however, down here it usually rains before it snows so it is washed off the roads before it ever gets a chance to work.

JENNIFER!!!!:jawdrop::eek::jawdrop: You need to go to your room, young lady! (Wait, that might not be such a good idea now that I think of it.)
Turns out it wasn't just me though.
Methinks the design of the bottle is deliberately provocative.

Convenient if you're getting your Hubby to go to the store.
Pretty sure the conversation goes like this: Honey, can you pick me up some hair gel? You know, the stuff that comes in a bottle that looks like a giant ....
