Yes, a few, actually, over the years.
The more common thing we do are safe/hidden rooms. To be used in case of a home invasion, tornado, etc..
I did a design a few weeks ago (a personal home for one of our builder clients) where the older daughter requested a "secret retreat" to be accessed by a hidden door from her walk-in closet. :)

Yeah, that is what the house had that we were bidding on. A good sized safe room access from closet but it was hidden too along with a dump out small staircase that landed in an area framing out the fireplace.

Last I heard the dude was still in jail.

security line was short, but for me that doesnt matter. Due of my implant, i need a patdown.
it took 20 mins to find one trained for that.

but i am inside the airport now, waiting for my flight home.
but I can confirm you that the international area of this airport.. is very little crowded and my airline zone..is almost empty.

It will take a while. Even here in the Carolina's it is quite cold with snow expected today and tomorrow. Might as well wait it out a week or two. :grumpy:

Oh I'm not talking the vacation I need badly, I'm talking pack the house and move like you did. I'm so over this.
I took the Pup about a mile, well bundled and the last block or two my fingers were freezing.

I might be a good plan. It is cold down here right now and the forecast is for snow, but, compared to what is going on north of us, this is like a cabana on a tropical beach. I have yet to regret my decision to move.

I should probably clarify that when I said there was snow in the forecast, I'm talking about an inch or two followed by freezing rain. The good news is that when that happens down here, no one expects you to have to go out at all. It practically shuts down. Florida is pretty safe from the threat of snow or significant icing. However, it does go to the opposite direction in the summer where you become a human roasting chicken. I'm happy with the middle of the road, which is N. Carolina. We get some nasty stuff but the total number of days per year like that would be about 5 on average.

You sound exactly like my brother who moved to N. Carolina about 6 years ago. He felt it was the best of both worlds, really. (He also had to laugh, though, when they didn't even bother to plow his street when it had some snow on it. The people on the street just wait a day or two and then it's o.k. to drive on it, due to melting.) :)

You probably know this, but just in case I'll extend a reminder. Mittens are far warmer than gloves. In the really deep cold, I just put any of my gloves in a box and don't look at them again until the weather gets up over 25 degrees. Do you walk Walt with gloves or mittens?

Oh by the way, the snow in the back yard is now five feet! Had it not been for all the b & d snow, it probably would have been closer to 7 recently. The winds have really blown the snow off in strange directions. Some drifts in areas are at 8 feet, and others are at 4. It just depends on where you look.

Oh, and yes, we did have thunder snow in the most recent storm over the weekend! :jawdrop: :joyfull:

Do you recall the name of the spray, gel, or foam based product?
I like Bedhead products. Bedhead afterparty is what I use after a blowout to keep my hair frizz free. I also use Cibu products. They're made by Bubbles Salon. You can get them online. I have a heat protecting spray that I use before blow drying or using any heat product. I have a cream that I also use on my hair when it's wet.

Generally, you want products that are alcohol and sulfate free. That makes the frizz worse and can be damaging. You want to look for products that contain argon oil for smoothing out your hair. And a heat protectant before you blow dry your hair is important. It protects your hair from damage and prevents it from frizzing.

Also, I don't wash my hair everyday. When I'm on vacation, I only wash it when I've been swimming. At home, once every 3 days is all I need. In between, I either use dry shampoo (I like Herbal Essences best) or I rinse my hair out.

Best thing you can do is talk to a stylist. They can figure out exactly what's best for your hair, how to blow dry it properly, etc.

I saw your Thundersnow on TV! Can Jack now walk right over the fence? When I had our Goldens they'd walk right to the top of the fence and look over at the driveway way down there.

I wear gloves with Walter, normally with glove warmers when it is this bitter. Walter is 100# of happy dog! Walt is incredibly powerful. He walks very nicely by my side, he doesn't pull. Still when something happens I need to have a good grip on him. Can't do that with mittens.

I love my mittens, you are right they keep hands so much warmer than gloves. I have a pair of mitten/gloves, I can flip the mitten part up and have my fingers free and I like those a lot too.

Yeah summer is nasty in Florida but temp wise it isn't much different than here. It is humid here too in the summer but so much worse in Florida. Still I always have A/C running here, so I can have A/C running there.
