Yes it was awful. He was in a 3 bedroom unit the first half and a 4 bedroom the second half, 2 CPs per room. They share one dresser and each have a drawer in a nightstand. 2 bathrooms for 6-8 people and a small kitchen, one sofa, one loveseat. If you want a TV ya gotta buy one or use someone else so if you multiple it out for an 8 person apartment x 26 weeks at $100 each, well yikes! They are grossing over $40,000 a year from these students per unit.
Not to mention that they are paid lower than normal CMS and work longer hours, right?

I have some metal pizza trays thingies.. cheap ones from the supermarket, works for me.
Pizza stones would cost a ton to buy and ship to my home.
The ones that are cheap have mediocre reviews (like breaking on the third use..etc..)
When I make pizza I will cook the dough on a cookie sheet at first for 5-7 minutes so that it starts to cook. Then I will take it out and put the toppings on and cook it right on the rack so that the crust geta crispy. Your post today inspired me to get ingredients from the supermarket to make pizza. :hungry:

I mostly "read only" up there. Once in a great while, I'll add my comments. But, I've never been beat up. More often, my comments just get ignored! :hilarious: (I'm not sure which is worse--having them throw rocks at you, or being perceived as being just too lame, for any of them to respond? o_O :p )

Hahaaa...!
Actually, it turns out I didn't get beat up at all with that little detour.
Also, your not lame at all. I've been ignored "up there" many times, as well. In fact, by far, most of the time. There was a bit of back and forth with at least one member this time, but, it was nothing bad. It seems many of the regulars up there will either ignore or jump on any of us "unwashed interlopers" (my term ;)) ...!!! :hilarious: After all, they know all things Disney, and they are the experts, as N&R is pretty much the only place they hang out on this site. :cyclops:
Anyway, I haven't ventured their since, but, I'm sure I will from time to time. Next time I may very well be thoroughly thrashed...we'll see...! ;)

Not to mention the food didnt seem truly mexican to be honest...
Seems like they got a texmex cook than a real mexican one last time I Was there. I mean, adding yellow corn to some recipes? big no no.

Yep, you definitely shouldn't have a Tex-Mex chef in a place that is supposed to have traditional Old Mexico food. Big no no, indeed.
They are both awesome :hungry:, but, they also both have some distinct differences. :)

That's how I cook my crust too. I also spread a little olive oil and pizza seasoning on the crust during the pre-cook.

And now for the next episode of yes, SWG can cook, but her parents don't need to know that...

Started out with baked potato soup, which no, I did not make. It's from Safeway. I added some cheese and a few bacon bits as a garnish.

Then we have grilled chicken breast with a chipotle pepper seasoning topped with fresh avocado abd served with some lima beans (which I love).

Yeah its like "be glad we're giving free transportation? ohh? too full? well time to cough even more money!"

Yep, sounds to me like... "I know, let's not add more busses, let's just take a few for the backstage upcharge and it will be enough for the ones that can't afford it, and the ones that can, to take a little heat off the free busses!!! :joyfull:"
:bored:

Hee hee . . . ;) Actually, there's a lot of good, current information up in those N&R and General threads. The only issue I have with that part of the forum, is that a subject usually starts out informative and civilized; yet, often devolves into this . . .

One of my all-time favorite silly flicks...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
There was a guy I worked with many years ago that was going to the University of Oregon when they filmed the movie, and remembers the day he couldn't get into the cafeteria when they were filming that particular scene...! :)

I know I've mentioned this before too, but, Donald Sutherland was offered about $40,000 and a 3% royalty share to play the professor part, and he said something like just give me $45,000 up front and be done with it. He thought the movie would just tank.
He has talked about this many times in the past apparently, but, if he would have taken the 40K and the 3%, he would have brought in over $4 million of income from the royalties alone, at one point.
Could be more by now, I'm not sure if there was a time limit on the royalties with the offer.

I think the only channels I'm going to miss are the 2 Hallmark ones I had before cutting the cord. Than again only at Christmas time, when I'm too busy to enjoy them:banghead:

Yep, probably the only reason why DWifey would never have any service that didn't carry the Hallmark channels. We've had TWC (now Spectrum) for as long as I can remember, and have never had enough problems to switch.
As a matter of fact, we're (she's  ;)) watching the Hallmark Channel right now... :cyclops:

I guess this is a personal viewpoint, but it's the reason why I won't go "home" ever again. (After my parents passed away years ago, the house was sold.) I just don't think I could bear to look at any "changes" to "our" house and/or the street--where we knew all the neighbors, back then. When I was a kid, it was rare for anyone to move. We "grew up" with many families on the street, from infancy through college, etc.

Best, for me, that those moments in time remain intact in my memory, undisturbed.

When I was really young we lived in the City, our house was next to my Grans 2 flat. My Aunt lived with her, my Aunt and Uncle lived on the top flat with my two cousins. We left almost 10 years before my Gran died so I saw our old house for awhile but once Gran was gone I never went back again, the house/flats were sold. I have it set in my mind.

My Mom still has the house we were basically raised in so I am frequently there. If she sells it (I wish she would) I wouldn't go back. It is also in an area of high demand for property, runs the high risk of being flattened. I'm like you I don't like to mess with my memories.

We get these trucks from time to time as well, but they are .. just not enough.

Theres swamps and very stagnant rivers everywhere in the bay.

We have so many retaining ponds and then the river that spills out and creates new ponds. In most of the ponds/retention they drop a hockey puck made of something to kill them off. Then in the run off water sewers they drop a mini puck. Still it helps but doesn't prevent them all.

I made a total of 4 pizzas.
2 small and 2 big.

1 big had: Mushrooms and the other side was Salami
1 small had: Pineapple + Ham(Hawaiian) + Margarite ( Tomato slices + olive oil + spices)
1 big (the one in the old photo): was all the remaining ingredients I had left, so tossed Hawaiian + Mushrooms + Margarite
1 small one had: Salami and Mushrooms (the one in this picture)

I always end sharing the pizzas i make between me and my mother, my aunt and my sister and her family.

They really look awesome!
