Hearing you are to get lots and lots again. Oy. We are to get ice storms tomorrow. Oy again. Ice storms actually scare me more than snow storms.

Ice is the worst, and I always prefer snow. From the preliminary reports, my area may get 14-20 inches between now (it's been snowing since I got up around 4:30 a.m.), and then it will snow off and on for the next 3 days. The good thing is that the maximum accumulation will take place in phases over 3 days, so it's not like we're getting up to 20 inches in one day. That will help the road crews, etc., in their efforts to try and keep on top of the additional snow. :)

Now, here's something funny about all the snow we've had recently. With all the shovelling, longer commuting days, farther walks to different bus stops (locations where the bus was actually working . . .), etc., I lost 3 pounds over the past two weeks! HA! Believe me, I wasn't dieting at all, as I had not, in the least, cut back on any of my favorite treats! :p :D

In other things. Anyone knows if there is a shortcut from the Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani to the AKL Resort area ?
I'm planning on dinning on THE MARA or the SANAA.
both sound very appetizing.

Seems like Jennifer replied to your inquiry. However, I just wanted to suggest that you also might want to look over in the WDW Reort Hotels part of the forum, for any additional, helpful, information on AKL. :) We're all very excited for you to have a great trip, and an interesting time at the cochlear convention, too.

One Little Spark...
hopefully they find facts. Its not the first time that papparazzis have caused real damage.
including loss of life.

You'll need to either walk along the outside perimeter (parking lot) or take one of the busses. iirc, the busses all stop at Kidani first, and then Jambo, so you can just board any of the theme park bus (but not DTD) and it will take you over there.

The DTD bus runs from Jambo to Kidani...so you can get back on that bus.

We have one neighbor across the road and they still have their lights up and a Christmas Tree up in their picture window. All of us talk about them, they are Polish immigrants and march to a different drummer in all walks of life, they pick through our garbage cans too. :cautious: Fine if you want to light your tree up in February but draw the drapes so the rest of us don't have to be struck by it nightly.
I have a neighbor, a young couple, that still have there Christmas Tree up. From the window it looks like a real tree too. Hate to think about the needles that thing has to be shedding by now. I solved that problem and never put up any decorations or a tree this year. It's part of my grumpy old man persona. :grumpy:

If memory serves:
This is only her second trip after a 10 year hiatus.
Prior to that, she was there (by herself) more on than off for 20 years.
Plus, the entire family was there for two years in the 80's.

Again, I don't have a say in the matter; but I know it was my mother's passing that was the catalyst to go back.
I think she would be quite content to die there, as long as it wasn't a long, protracted, painful passing.

We haven't heard from her since my cousin emailed her; although this means nothing, as her hydro is spotty at the best of times, let alone her internet connection.

Prayers to you all that she remains well enough there until she comes home. If that was my Mom I'd be concerned to about her getting the help she needs while trying to tend to the needs of others.

I'm sure @MinnieM123 has better snow piles because they have more snow.

Yikes!

We had a bit of a thaw yesterday so we lost some about 10 inches. We have ice dams in the gutters and I have been chopping ice in the driveway cause we are supposed to get rain than snow into night.

There was a layer of packed snow on the driveway. We had it turn to two inches of packed ice one year after it rained on the packed snow. Attempting to navigate cars down the driveway was so dangerous, we could finally stop them when they slid into the garage. :in pain: I vowed that was never going to happen again.

Question.. do 'Ohana at WDW serves food nonstop a la those Brazilian Heateries? (churrasquerias?)
Where you pay a fixed fee and then you get unlimited served food?

or how does it work?

But keep trying especially while you are down there. People always cancel ADRs and if you are not fussy with the time you might be lucky and check just at the right time. Also in the morning before you leave you can always have the concierge check the rest of the week for you again, do it every day. The other concierge in any hotel will check for you as a resort guest on property. Maybe Karma will be with you. You will likely have better luck at the beginning of your trip since the end of your trip is going to beyond crowded.

its enfuriating here how they announce that carp of a movie.
they say "while you wait for the MOST AWAITED MOVIE OF THE YEAR.. 50 shades of grey....HAVE THESE MOVIES SO YOU CAN FIND THE PERFECT MAN FOR YOU"
KnkJkpk.gif

then they all show movies like RAMBO, SAW, and ultra violence action movies.
I'm like :

50 Shades is drawing a weird dynamic. Women in my age demographic are planning meet ups with their lady friends and going together. Dinner-Movie-Cocktails

Well that was a nice bonus for all your hard work! :)
