Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I have a neighbor, a young couple, that still have there Christmas Tree up. From the window it looks like a real tree too. Hate to think about the needles that thing has to be shedding by now. I solved that problem and never put up any decorations or a tree this year. It's part of my grumpy old man persona. :grumpy:

Ahhh. They have nothing on this man from Wisconsin that has left his real tree up since 1975 and just continues to add tinsel.

He vowed not to take the tree down until all six of his sons came home. Sadly one was injured badly in Vietnam and cannot travel do to profound war injuries. The tree stays put year after year, 40 years and counting.

Why is it that all of a sudden I have the desire to link hands and group sing Kumbayah?

Ha! A flashback to my childhood. Guitar Mass on Sunday. Of course held in the basement while the traditional mass was upstairs. It wasn't called a contemporary mass, modern mass, no a Guitar Mass. I rarely went as with all that guitar music and songs the mass usually was about 20 minutes longer and I had a short attention span.

50 Shades is drawing a weird dynamic. Women in my age demographic are planning meet ups with their lady friends and going together. Dinner-Movie-Cocktails

I read the 50 Shades books, and they were okay. I'm mildly intrigued by the movie but I don't know if I want to see it in the theater. My husband definitely doesn't want to go. Whenever I go to my local theater I always run into a student or a former student so I'd probably feel a little awkward bumping into someone I knew. I suppose I could go to a different town but I'll just wait for it to be on pay per view on Directv.

My Mom has this issue too bumping into students.

My Mom is a haul away from me and one day while I was doing some landscaping work at her house I ran to the hardware store to buy some more bags of mulch and said Hi to Mrs Bee. Asked if she lived out this way since it was a long way from my DD high school. She obviously couldn't place me so I helped her along and was polite but got the feeling living all the way over there she wasn't accustomed to students or parents bumping into her.

:( Not surprised though. It's a hard ressie to get!
go figure.. something very weird happened today.

First.. I had a very weird dream involving Disney princesses, mixed in a star wars like firefight in space.
Repunzel (with short hair) was a battle commander, kicked in space, her ship got severely damaged.. we crash landed...
We ended walking in a pretty spanish style villa, where the commander of the ship was insisting that repunzel find a suitable man. She kept refusing everyone.. in a part there was prince phillip and aurora walking out.
Funnily I always seen this from the perspective of a body guard of Repunzel.
I woke up all "The hell was that".
Then I decided to take it as a hint (it was very early).
So, I Used the WDWapp for android to check on reservations.. and VOILA! found one spot in my first day at WDW at Ohana.
I have now a spot in OHANA!

then I flopped back to bed to sleep more.
I had another dream, involving thiefs and my dad's car, also car crashes (not involving me directly) and other stuff. It was weird.
Took it as another sign...
As soon woke up, did review my email confirmation for the reservation...
Despite selecting 1 seat. the WDWapp changed the reservations from 1 seat to 4 seats!
So I just emailed the WDW email crew to fix this issue.

I'm getting clairvoyance for WDW issues?

You'll need to either walk along the outside perimeter (parking lot) or take one of the busses. iirc, the busses all stop at Kidani first, and then Jambo, so you can just board any of the theme park bus (but not DTD) and it will take you over there.

The DTD bus runs from Jambo to Kidani...so you can get back on that bus.
But I will be at the DVC at Kidani.
Why would I want to go to DTD and then to AKL again? o_O

Even if it is true, I would think that if I had to chose between hitting a car and killing someone or getting my picture taken, I believe I would put on some fresh lipstick and smile for the camera.
unless they caused a Princess Diana like accident (which I dont buy it)
Where they claimed the papparazis were firing too much flashes, and made the driver momentarily blind.

interesting, but have you seen the information that was leaked about the own actors of 50 shades of grey? who were pretty much disgusted by the movie?

No
We have one neighbor across the road and they still have their lights up and a Christmas Tree up in their picture window. All of us talk about them, they are Polish immigrants and march to a different drummer in all walks of life, they pick through our garbage cans too. :cautious: Fine if you want to light your tree up in February but draw the drapes so the rest of us don't have to be struck by it nightly.
Good reason to take down your Christmas tree: there was a fire in Annapolis that was caused by someone leaving up their Christmas tree for too long. Apparently it was dry, there was a faulty electrical outlet, and it caught fire very quickly. The entire mansion was destroyed, killing the two grandparents and four grandchildren. Christmas trees should be kept up for a month.

unless, they're plastic?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
We don't turn ours on now but most of our lights/figures are in the yard (only because they are frozen in the ground). I was driving home the other night and a house had their lights on and I thought it was kind of cool.
Well, I'll say it's easy for the Domino's driver to find our house.

(Son #2 orders 2-3x/week. Not me. I'm too cheap to pay for delivery!)

Dude, you gotta start watching what you eat before you go to bed.

Happy you got into 'Ohana though. I think you'll really enjoy it.
The sides are as good as the grilled meats - especially the noodles, potstickers/dumplings, and chicken wings. Enjoy!
Note - as awesome as it is, DO NOT FILL UP ON BREAD!
