I started the free trial of Hulu Live yesterday. Problem is while we have an app on our tv for it, you can only access the live tv if you have an xbox, Apple tv(4th gen), iPad, iPhone, or Android phone. We have the iPads and iPhone but the screens are kind of small. Don't really feel like buying an Apple TV because why spend $200x2 (for2 tv's), if I don't know if I will like it or not. Did download the app on my iPhone and it worked perfectly. Kind of annoying in that you have to search for networks to watch live tv as there are no channel numbers. Probably just something to get used to. Otherwise it is like Netflix but with current shows also. I liked that it has shows from my childhood/teenage years like Charles in Chatge. Loved Scott Baio.

This is NOT good.
There are many alternatives to Apple TV.

The Roku is a fine example.

Ha!! That's both funny and sad that your parents thought being on the Principal's list meant you were in trouble. Ours was call the Principal's Honor Roll, so no confusion there.
That's the thing...there are all different kinds of intelligence and giftedness. One kid is a stellar athlete. (That was definitely NOT me. I can trip over air.) Another can sing or draw or write. Another is great with computers and gadgets. This "every kid gets a trophy" herd mentality is not good for anyone's self esteem in the long run. Kids aren't allowed to explore their talents and find out what they are truly gifted at, and every kid has SOMETHING. DD does really well in school, but she turns over her papers so no one can see her grades and feel bad if they didn't do as well on a test.(She actually came home bursting with pride last week for her friend because the friend improved so much in spelling and math. She was happier for her friend than she was for herself) But she is also super happy for a kid who is athletic and does well in PE, even though she might be more uncoordinated than I am, and that is saying something. Give kids some credit for being empathetic and understanding that they can't be good at everything. And it's ok for kids to see others succeed and do well. It teaches them to work hard to emulate that and to find the area where they shine themselves. And it teaches them good sportsmanship. I think we underestimate kids' ability to understand each other and the world around them. They are more aware than we give them credit for.
Your DD sounds like a really sweet girl. We need more like her. :)

Oy. Good luck! While we never had birds we put dog food in a tight seal Rubbermaid container, no bugs getting in there. When I sprayed mint extract diluted in sprayer water container the ants just left and never came back to kids apartment. I also put in cabinets Wrigley's Double-mint or Spearmint sticks of gum, (individually but still wrapped) in all kitchen cabinets at kids and my house.

One year we had mealy bugs in 2 cabinets, they are hard to get rid of but the mint did the trick. The ants came in my kids window, I could see them on second floor concrete ledge. Flowering tree rubbing on building and window. I poured several drops of pure extract out there.

That's fascinating. I like your method. Kinda like the Old Farmer's Almanac approach . . . @Gabe1 , reminiscent of a resourceful, smart, prairie woman!

Another complaint about the in-laws. The graduation girl was opening her gifts and cards....I don't think I have been with more judgemental people during a gift opening ever. It was turning my stomach so much I left for awhile.

By the way, thanks for letting me vent a little about them.

Time for sudden onset illness--your hubs will need to take you home, as you don't want the illness to spread to all the lovely company there . . .

Sounds like a nightmare of people to be next to. Very toxic for the sound of it.
