@betty rose , since you said you love anything pickled, and I believe @Gabe1 said she would like the zucchini pickle recipe, I looked it up in the cookbook my mom gave me. I'm assuming that "lime" is probably the chemical, not the fruit, but having never made them myself, I have no idea.

Thank you for the recipe, I'm going to wait until zucchini goes on sale. Then I will try my hand at pickling.

And sometimes it is that bad. I am to the point of needing to go with my Mom now 'cause I can't get her off the revolving door of appointments and further testing when everything is coming back negative. I have to take her to a bone marrow biopsy on Friday. They had sufficiently scared her into the test-so Friday it is and then the next week for results. Her primary has her seeing a specialist from her eyes to her toes. She does have real vision issues beyond that everything is stable. Last month it was every heart test one after the next even though all of the tests from EKG's, stress and echoes came back perfect. So they scheduled an angio and I threw a fit. Some of these tests are not without risk, it can be the test that kills you vs having disease or condition.

We wonder why healthcare is so freak'n expensive just look at what my Mom has been through since January without being ill or feeling badly. Just the flip side of my 2 cents. :)
I get that. I'm of the opinion that less Dr's the better. I rebel when I'm told I have to try a new medicine, I look at the warning labels and say no thank you. Did that with the last two meds. for high cholesterol. It's the genes thing...you get what you get. Over and done with that topic, lol. Until the Dr. has a new miracle drug. I'm thinking I may be going to a pill pusher.....I already take 8 pills in the morning, and 5 at night. That's enough already.....rant over....

Time for a second opinion. IMHO

I believe with all the steep mountains of dirt they put up around Ohare Airport when they expanded it and likely for security they hired in goats and donkey's to mow the grass. Designed so steep that the lawnmowers couldn't navigate the mountains. Enter Goats and Donkey's.

I like that idea. Our HOA specfically says...no farm animals, in our little town.

I did! The very first thing we did was get milkshakes and then go to Perkins in honor of my dad, since that was one of his favorites. I made sure to get most of my favorites in, but a lot of things have changed...like...no chicken broccoli alfredo at Applebees anymore. And I got some things and mailed a box home to myself last week. I managed to get girl scout cookies, too!
What kind of cookies? I love them all, but the thin mints are my favorites. :hungry::hungry::hungry:

My parakeets are too quiet today. I hope they are not getting sick. This crazy weather makes it really hard to keep the house temperature at the right place for the birds. My husband just turned on the heat in the middle of the day. I miss the racket that these two birds usually make.
Prayers for your birds, I hope they are more chipper today.
