We did a lot of camping in our early years, we had little money, and a twenty dollar tent, with sleeping bags was fine in those days. Most of the motels weren't that much better, when we camped in the mountains. Some of them are really run down today, and moldy. Sleeping outdoors with a cot (we used that when we had more money to spend). Was really nice. We would leave the tent open at night, and it was fun hearing all the animals. :D:D:D
I guess that would be considered romantic. We don't get much of that anymore with 4 buggers running around.:D

I have never stayed at AOA, but I have visited there a few times when I stayed at POP. I think POP is a better fit for me since a lot of my trips are solo. I did really enjoy the food court at AOA. The pool area really looked nice for those of you that swim. I am not a swimmer.
I love the POP too, I love the 60's music. It's really fun and upbeat. They have a nice gift shop too.

I like that idea. Our HOA specfically says...no farm animals, in our little town.

Moo!
In My little Hamlet it certainly depends on the zoning. Zoning trumps any HOA for what is not allowed. Further a HOA can say no, not here farm animals as long as it is a real establish HOA.
In most residential zoned areas no farm animals, no more that 3 dogs or 3 cats or any combo of either. Both commercial and industrial the zoning laws are different that allows for Veterinarian Office, Pet Kennell, guard dogs in business etc.
Then there is residential/farm land. Those zoning laws are moving targets right now, some critters being grandfathered, some properties too but then if sold or the critters die off not being able to replace. It isn't the same for any given parcel of land in that zoning district.

Now what no HOA anywhere USA can say no to is service animals. Those critters are anything from a mini pig, monkey, goat, mini horses along with the tradition dogs. While I am likely one of the strongest advocates for service animals I'm seeing the need to draw some lines in the sand cause it is just getting crazy. Where you can train a dog easily with bodily functions, a goat or pony in a school or airplane is a real health issue as an example.

Mine too, all of the cast on that show was wonderful. I loved all the one liners while developing their individual character's.

Newhart style of humor lent itself well to sitcoms. It wasn't one liner punchlines or a comedy show. It was dry pointed delivery right into a storyline that made humor in the era enjoyable.

I am not fan of gutter mouth comedians. To me anyhow it demonstrates a lack of talent and ability to write and perform good material to an audience. It isn't really talent to string 3-4 words per sentence that are vulgar and foul. Some people love the vulgarity. Me not so much. Nor am I impressed in the business world or socially with anyone that can't hold a conversation or speak without inserting vulgarity continuously into what comes out of their mouths. To me it is a red flag in normal life to a lack of intelligence and or a very poor vocabulary.

Totally agree with every word of this.

I'm going to try and take one of those nap things today! I was up until 11 and up at 3. The coffee has worn off:cautious::cautious::cautious::banghead:
Sympathy like. Hope you got a nap in. I think you must have been having sympathy insomnia! I went to bed at about 10:30 last night, then woke up at midnight and tried in vain to get back to sleep until 5:15...and I had to get up an hour later. I was soooo tired today. Then my dishwasher crapped out on me...well, not true...it crapped out on my husband last night. He does the dishes, but it meant that the kids' school lunch containers weren't clean this morning. So I spent the morning washing those by hand and trying to unclog the drain with a turkey baster. Finally got it to work...still no idea what was wrong with it as there was nothing caught in the filter, but once I got all the water out of the bottom, it started working again....then it stopped again, and I had to repeat the entire process. It seems to be working now. But after a lack of sleep and then dealing with that, I was so not going to do any of the other things planned for the day. They will be there tomorrow.
