@BuddyThomas , my sister and I enjoyed RENT yesterday. What a talented group of singers and actors!

The only minor negative we agreed upon, was that we thought there should have been a bit more dialogue to balance out the musical backstory. Some of the story nuances were lost in the songs. "A Note About the Plot" in the Playbill, did explain a bit of those--again, a few nuances would have translated better in dialogue on stage.

(Note: Some of the storyline about an eclectic bunch of struggling artists and others, reminded me of years ago--in the Fore Point Channel area of Boston. A bunch of them were living illegally in artist lofts, not zoned for residences, but they couldn't afford rents in regular housing areas.)

Anyway, it was a treat to experience "live" theater--it's usually years between plays for me. Oh, the actor who was one of the lead actors (character: Roger Davis) was Kaleb Wells, (from Brooklyn, NY). Not sure if you're familiar with him, but he really stood out to me and to my sister. Here is his web page below, if you're interested.

@MySmallWorldof4 the Quinoa Cake recipe the chef said I may want to cut it down for a family LOL
Cook 2pounds quinoa in 20 cups veggie stock(recipe says add 2bsp kosher salt, I don't) Saute 4 ounces of garlic and 8 ounces minces shallots in 1/2 cup olive oil(I use finely chopped onions and cut the oil in half) until golden. Lower the heat and add 2tbsp black pepper, 2tbsp chili powder, 2tbsp ground cumin, 2tbsp dried oregano and 2tbsp thyme and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then make a slurry with 4 cups chick pea flour and 8 cups veggie stock. Combine all ingredients and chill. Make patties ans saute in olive oil. Serve with sauce made with 12 ounces sour cream, 18 ounces yogurt, 1/2 ounce honey, .1 ounce pepper, .3 ounce kosher salt, and 15 ounces shredded cucumber(recipe says BT chopped cucumber salad)
Thanks! I will be sure to try it when we have our ADR at Whispering Canyon. I have all the ingredients, but for the yogurt which can be remedied easily. Just happened to order chickpea flour last week.:) This may be my lunch everyday this week.:hungry: I will bake them instead of fry though.;)

Ha Ha! My dh has the same issue with them. I have one that I love that has a straight edge on the bottom instead of rounded. I love it for sauteing. I probably use that one the most for cooking.:)

I also have a straight edge wooden one that I use for sauteing. I've had it for probably 15 or more years. It's my "go to" for frying pan, sauteing. I dunno--I think I like the natural wood best for cooking, versus other materials.

Yes, our HS was amazing as far as vocational education goes. The funny part about it is, not including myself, several others in my vocational drafting class went on to be highly successful...
2 that formed their own firm (they were grandfathered in and got there architectural licenses), 2 that became home builders, and at least 2 that became developers...and none of them ever obtained a college degree...! :)
Different fits for different folks...!!!

Absolutely. Part of the trend up here, it seems, is to get rid of these types of vocational programs in the schools. :(

It takes a village, people.

Nope. Country living.

Sorry to hear that there's no other transportation other than your car. So if a person doesn't have a car, I guess that people probably rely on nice neighbors to drive them places. :) Nothing wrong with that--most likely out in the rural country, people probably get to know their neighbors better, and have pleasant and helpful relationships.

(For people in my area that don't have any access to even public transportation, they offer special shuttle service to some elderly folks, and to others who may be living with various handicaps. They take them grocery shopping and to doctor's appts., etc. The shuttle provides a dual purpose--for some of them, it's also the social interaction that they look forward to. Many live alone and are widows or widowers.)

Some are. But we've had other Cuisinart appliances over the years that didn't hold up any better than much cheaper-priced brands, too.
What she said. It seems as far as holding up kitchen aid and hobart are the last 2 brands where everything seems to hold up:( OXO seems to have the best hand tools and they're good for people who have arthritus my mil has a kitchen full of their things so I get to try before I buy:joyfull:

Doesn't you're local supermarket carry it? Vegan omelette recipe please
1 Cup chickpea flour, 1/2 tsp onion pwder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/3 Cup nutritional yeast, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 Cup water. Combine all those together. separately have chopped veggies of your choice already sauteed.
Pour the batter in a frying pan as if you are making pancakes. Sprinkle some veggies over it. Flip it when you start to see a lot of bubbles. Just finish it on the other side. It cooks just like a pancake. I make a bunch out of this, but with your boys it may only be one meal.;) There are loads of these recipes on the internet. This was the first one I ever found. Got it from a heart healthy cookbook.

@MySmallWorldof4 have you ever been to the Kutztown Festival? Hopefully we'll be able to pull off a day trip to there and a side trip to Wooden Bridge because we haven't been there in years:(
We lived near enough but never went oddly enough. We would take tons of trips to Lancaster practically weekly in the summer. We would go to Dutch Wonderland a lot. But the kids outgrew it. They want to go to Hershey and we live closer to that now, but I am spoiled by Disney and Hershey Park seems kind of dumpy in comparison. There is a great restaurant in Hershey if you go there. It is called The Chocolate Grill. They have the best burgers. They have a yummy bean burger with a balsamic onion topping. :hungry:I just don't remember about the rolls if they have gluten free options.

I don't see Hershey as dumpy just different and my boys love coasters. Dorney is the one I'm not fond of. Right now if given the choice they'd choose UNI, Hershey and Disney in that order.
