Nah . . . I'm an airplane buff just like @donaldtoo . A sighting of AF1 would be very exciting!!

However, as for the traffic mess his arrival would bring--that's true. I hate it when roads, etc., are blocked off for heads of state. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it sure is a drag for the average person who gets stuck in traffic over it.
Bet AF-1 has been seen by more people than G-Joey ...

I am thrilled that you're back at Disney!!! As for AF1, that must have been really "something" to see that plane. Not many people have. I would have loved to see that.

It looks more impressive on tv than in person. Not to mention seeing it means the local roads are going to be a royal mess.

Thanks @MinnieM123 seeing the plane was cool. But it is smaller than one would think. There is a huge Air Force (I think) plane that accompanies it and that dwarfs it. I have been able to see it twice. Once in Minneapolis and now here. As figgy said the traffic can be a nightmare because of it, in was in Minneapolis prob

Where are you off to today to have fun?

Hi @ajrwdwgirl -- have fun today!! Can't wait to see the various photos you take; your photos are always excellent. By the way, Jack waves hi to Kapono -- he thinks that whomever is taking care of Kapono should give an extra treat today, because you're away. ;)

Epcot this morning. With the early flight yesterday we didn't think that we would be able to do that early opening in animal kingdom today. We are going to go to the Magic Kingdom tonight maybe even traders Sam's. We did start today with some Mickey waffles.

Minnie I'm sure the kapono would wave back to Jack and my sisters taking care of her and I packed extra treats for thanks for the concern

I love the garden stone Mickey that they have at the festival.

The fall before Obama took office he stopped at the farm market that was right down the road from our restaurant. I remember everyone standing by our windows and watching the line of black vehicles going by and the helicopters flying over. Big news for our small town. He bought two bushels of apples and shared them with the press with him.

Upon landing here in Austin after our July of '12 WDW trip, we taxied past AF1 off in the distance sitting near some auxiliary hangers in a secure area. President Obama was in town for a campaign event.
It was kinda' cool to see. :)

Also, back in '84, one of the space shuttles (either Challenger or Discovery) was piggybacking on the 747 from Edwards AFB Back to KSC, and made a pit stop her at Bergstrom AFB (now our international airport).
We saw it pretty much fly right over our office from the parking lot on it's landing approach.
Now, to me anyway, that was way cooler than seein' AF1...! ;) :)

You really should try and plan a Space Coast vacation. KSC (Atlantis is on display), beach with a hammock, manatee watching, and a few very good places to eat:joyfull:

Guess I'm a bit jaded having seen it a few dozen times. An F-117 up close and personal is a sight to behold and my personal favorite classic T-34

We saw an F-117A at the last air show they had here at Bergstrom AFB before it closed and became our airport, back in the mid-late 90's. It was pretty up close, but, not personal, as it was stanchioned and rope off in a square shape, with armed (M16s) guards on all 4 sides.
Back then they were still high tech, these days, not so much.

I actually prefer the T-38...
