I haven't seen a play on Broadway either. Something is wrong when both of my kids have over the growing up years. Can't say I didn't make sure they were introduced to all sorts of culture-y things. Yet they landed on Chlorine. ;)

I definitely was not raised on culture-y things, (and neither were our kiddos, really) but, I was raised just fine (although, how I turned out may be a different story  ;)), and so were our kiddos, and we always did (and still do) a lot of things together as a family...! :)
We took the kiddos to see The Lion King here in Austin, many years ago, and it was spectacular...!!! :)
But, it wasn't on Broadway...! :( ;)

Actually there are a growing number of assisted living centers in Mexico, they are mostly filled with Americans.
Here in the states it ranges from $3000 to $7000 a month. In Mexico range is $1000 to $1700 for equal to better new facilities. My understanding it is a whole new market for employment down your way for nurses.
Yes, but these are sadly mostly placed in big cities and towns. I havent heard of many being opened that are decent and have affordable prices.
There are luxury ones of course. But those are waaaaay far away from my mothers and my budget.

Although, I'm thinkin' probably for rainy/bad weather purposes. ;)
There is an easy explanation for that lol.
The boat can load a car.. the man needs to go to get supplies for his job as a lighthouse keeper.
The place to get supplies is too far away from the continental dock.
therefore, he needs a car. And I dont think its safe to leave the car back in the continental dock :P

My Gran-she would trace a garment, segment by segment that was what she wanted and then tweak the pattern.
Sadly I have a few ideas in mind for a few things and nothing I have would work for doing that and the other is something that I have that would have to be completely resized:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I think the guys will be getting off a bit easy getting me a book for Valentine's day:D I just made a circle skirt with a yoga waist band with just a bit of math:) Very easy if you like pi:D

The boys have both golfed at Disney, DS frequently for a while. There are all sorts of skill levels out there, neither of them ever felt uncomfortable and DS had been going since he was a young'n. Know you will now see warnings about alligators and snakes. :joyfull:

I have now been to the almost complete Springs 2x for a couple hours each. Really needed more time. I wrestle with that. I can shop at most of these stores in N. IL and I'm in Disney! Now the restaurants and music at night were intriguing. I'm still on the fence about the whole re-boot of DTD. I can't afford to eat lots of meals there, some can add up to $100+ per person even for lunch though you can, like anywhere, cut back on what you order. The area is pretty though-charmingly. Still we all still favored our DTD old section for shopping. I guess it is going to take me a while for my final verdict, a lot to take in. I'm not the type to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on purses on vacation or buy a $150 t-shirt so there are certainly stores I will window shop past in the future. My understanding when all this was plotted out the foreign dollars were strong. With the exchange rate flipping out it did alter a chunk of the guests Disney was aiming to please. We shall see.
I feel the same way. Too many stores that I can shop at either at home or online should I desire. Although we did like the Coke store quite a bit. To me once out of the market place area it didn't quite have that Disney feel, it seemed like just another Florida mall:( That being said I did quite a bit of mall walking on our non park days:)

Well, other than the fact that a full 25% of it was, essentially, the Oprah Winfrey show , the Mary Tyler Moore tribute was very enjoyable.
Although, of course, very bittersweet, as well.

Dang. I was exhausted and fell asleep after 8:30 last night, so I missed the show. Now, I'm really curious about the Oprah 25% reference. (I thought the show was just going to be about Mary's life and career.)

So, some common themes here are:

1. People can find these same stores (with a few exceptions) in their own malls at home or online.
2. Many visitors don't have the extra money for high-priced merchandise (themed shirts, pocketbooks) while already spending a fortune on the actual WDW vacation.
3. It was actually geared more toward the foreign dollar tourists, prior to their currency slipping.
4. The restaurants are a positive addition, but are all pricey.
5. Disney Springs is a place to walk around and window shop, and kill time on off-park days.
6. The "charm" prevalent in the old DTD is gone (in comparison with the new D. Springs).

I went there last May, and I thought it was moderately pleasant-looking for an outdoor mall, but I found it boring. Did not buy one thing. (I have heard some good reviews about the new restaurants, though.)

Made my way back to the Marketplace and immediately felt the Disney connection. Ate lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express and left. (In my particular situation, I'm only down there at WDW for about 4 days, so a shopping area isn't high on my list. I prefer to get my money's worth out of my park tickets, for example.)
