And I actually had the same question years ago of a fellow Disney Fan from Australia.

I'm sorry to hear that. I think your mother is right about needing outside help at this point. I'm wondering do they have assisted living where you are? I know by me they have facilities that have different levels of assistance depending on the level of care needed. Anything from just house keeping and a visiting nurse to full time care. Prayers and pixie dust.
There are hospices. But I dont think there are "assisted living". I'm not even sure what could be the MEX equivalent of that service.
Anyway, my mother is checking for a nurse who does night services.

OMG--that was my exact thought when I first read about this lunacy. People with that much money would go to a highly rated restaurant or exclusive private club for money like that. For example, I think about (hypothetically only here) someone like wealthy, Richard Branson--I doubt he'd ever consider $15,000 for dining at 21 Royal.
I dont think Mr. Branson would waste money in these kind of overpriced meals. I honestly believe the target would be those "showoffs". Mostly rappers, kardashian-paris hilton type and musicians who flaunt about the money they have.

This had been one terrible week.

I had a phone interview and that same day, they sent up real interview. I went for that interview yesterday and they were like we really want more experience. Why did you call me in then.

Is it too late to change countries
Sounds like they wanted more experience and pay less(tm).
They do that in my country a lot. Claim they are interested in you, then find a flaw.. and then try to undercut the salary.

Thank you so much. I'm having to resort to either sewing my own clothes and the easiest way for me to get patterns is
1 I draft my own(I like hacking patterns but do not find drafting an entire garment fun) Shorts, sleep pants, circle skirts and other basic things no prob but fancier or detailed dresses I want at least a jumping off point that doesn't require to much resizing
2 buy junior sized patterns which can be a bit.......hoochie for lack of a better word or
3 get them from your side of the pond which requires a bit of translation:hilarious:
The good new is I found a book(excellent price and sold in the states) from over there that should meet my needs for a long time:inlove:

Good luck. do you have a centralized service of some type for seniors? If so maybe they can help or your local hospital.
There are no services for seniors. There are only specified buildings for that.
Example.. the INAMAP and other type of eldery social services. They only offer services INSIDE their buildings.
Nurses and special care all separated service.

I am lucky because I do enjoy a road trip. I leave here about 6am. I miss most of the heavy rush hour traffic around the major cities and arrive in or near WDW by about 4pm. That's stopping for lunch and, you know, those nature breaks. Since I insist on having a vehicle no matter what, add on time to get a rental to the flight things and we are probably within a couple of hours of overall travel time.

I do other things as well. This year, when I head on down in February for a few days, I am stopping in St. Augustine and going to the World Golf Hall of Fame on the way down, so I will be stopping there overnight. I am planning on two days visiting Universal (my usual stay offsite) and I am still debating on actually going to a Park or two in WDW. I do want to go on property, perhaps play some golf or visit Disney Springs (or both), but, I haven't decided on that yet.

My husband will be jealous of you going to the World golf Hall of Fame. He really wanted to go when we went to St. Aug but we really didn't have time. St. Aug is a nice town, I wouldn't mind going back. But he have to do the golf thing on his own. Have you golfed at Disney before? My hubs has done the Lake Buena Vista and the Magnolia courses and liked both. He likes to do the Sunrise 9 special, he likes to be the first on a course and going so early helps him beat the heat a little.

In other news.. mother thinking in getting grandmah in to an hospice or somehow find a caretaker that isnt too expensive.
You must know why. Well, my grandmah fell again.

She(my grandmother) decided she had enough of being in bed and sneakily slid out of her bed (she cant even stand, how the hell she got the great idea to try to walk towards the bathroom??!!!!). Also she weights a ton. I cant lift all of her by myself. We had to move her first to a chair from the floor, then to her bed. A whopping 30 minute struggle.
My mother had enough and gave her a good old daughter monologue.. as its the 3rd time she fell because she ignored my mother's and doctor's recommendations :/
Now imagine if I wasn't there. And both the times she fell down.. it was at night.
My mother and I are barely getting sleep because of this. I fear it might affect my mother's health (she already looks like she hadn't sleep in weeks)

Sorry to hear that your gran had another fall. It sounds like having extra help might be the best for everyone.

No, I have never done a Disney course, in fact I have never actually played golf in Florida. Most of the time I have had my clubs with me, but, always found something else to do. When with my family, I always felt that I shouldn't be going off to play golf when it was a family trip. Besides, I love the parks, so I would have felt like I was missing out on stuff if I didn't go to them. This time, I know that a lot is under construction and anything that is currently there and operational, I have experienced before. The only reason I might go is to make sure I get one last look at some of my favorites that rumor has will be disappearing before too long. That will require a day of park hopping for me. I haven't played golf there and, much to my frustration, I have never felt skillful enough to be placed in with people that were more then likely much better players then myself. I feel to self conscious about it and would feel like I was holding others back. Just me, I guess, but, that is how I feel. I thought I would give the 9 hole course a try and see how that goes. If it is alright, then I might move myself up to one of the bigger ones next time. I would like to hit into the Mickey bunker as well.

I also have not been to Disney Springs recently. The last time I was there they were just starting construction of the parking garage. I went over there on a nasty, cool, rainy night. I couldn't find a place to park so I just pulled out and went back to my hotel. Therefore, at this point, I have no opinion about it and I would like to see it for myself.

Your reasons for not playing golf are the same reasons my husband didn't play at WDW for many years. He finally did play on our 2 week trip and he played LBV first and wasn't paired up with anyone. He was also done by the time I left the resort for the opening of Hollywood Studios. He went on to play magnolia that day and was paired up with some guys and he was at about the same level luckily as the guys he was with. When he played again the day after Thanksgiving at Lake Buena Vista he was paired up with 3 others but again he said they were all great guys to play with. That sunrise 9 package is something he likes because he says that if he only wants to play 9 if he gets an early tee time, he can be in the parks early and still hit attractions before the crowds. I think he is planning to do Magnolia and the Palm when we go this summer, the Mag is the one that has the Mickey bunker. He was pleased he didn't hit his ball into it, but did pose for a picture with it. If you decide to go have fun!

My Gran-she would trace a garment, segment by segment that was what she wanted and then tweak the pattern.

Actually there are a growing number of assisted living centers in Mexico, they are mostly filled with Americans.
Here in the states it ranges from $3000 to $7000 a month. In Mexico range is $1000 to $1700 for equal to better new facilities. My understanding it is a whole new market for employment down your way for nurses.
