Ha ha ha!! Great idea, except his TV is hooked up to all kinds of other stuff--computers, etc. He has kind of his own Frankenstein lab going on . . . :p
It can't be worse than my dh's set up. TV, 2 monitors, lap top, regular computer(s?), DVD/VHS that both record. I'm sure I'm missing something, and let's not forget wires everywhere:cautious: It looks a bit like mission control:hilarious:

The boys have both golfed at Disney, DS frequently for a while. There are all sorts of skill levels out there, neither of them ever felt uncomfortable and DS had been going since he was a young'n. Know you will now see warnings about alligators and snakes. :joyfull:
Go to any Golf Course near the shore in North Carolina and South Carolina and see the same things. Some are more passive aggressive then others though. I cannot remember the exact course but in one spot near a pond, there was a sign that said. "Please do not attempt to retrieve a lost golf ball" and just a little way away from that one was another that read, "Do not feed the Alligators". It only took a small amount of math to figure out the point of those signs.:D

So, some common themes here are:

1. People can find these same stores (with a few exceptions) in their own malls at home or online.
2. Many visitors don't have the extra money for high-priced merchandise (themed shirts, pocketbooks) while already spending a fortune on the actual WDW vacation.
3. It was actually geared more toward the foreign dollar tourists, prior to their currency slipping.
4. The restaurants are a positive addition, but are all pricey.
5. Disney Springs is a place to walk around and window shop, and kill time on off-park days.
6. The "charm" prevalent in the old DTD is gone (in comparison with the new D. Springs).

I went there last May, and I thought it was moderately pleasant-looking for an outdoor mall, but I found it boring. Did not buy one thing. (I have heard some good reviews about the new restaurants, though.)

Made my way back to the Marketplace and immediately felt the Disney connection. Ate lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express and left. (In my particular situation, I'm only down there at WDW for about 4 days, so a shopping area isn't high on my list. I prefer to get my money's worth out of my park tickets, for example.)
beauty wise on the rivers and general areas.. I think Disney Springs triumph, but shop wise in the general area that is not Disney's... feels just like any high end mall. They are so generic!

I'm with you in many ways on this one, although like you said, we're not the target audience for DS. More for foreigners, and to some extent, locals. We did go over there on Sunday. My parents did a lot of shopping, but like you, stayed mostly in Marketplace. We did love the new Coca Cola shop, though. My brother and I went to Disney Quest. I love the look of the new Planet Hollywood menu, but for us, we have APs and stay for the majority of our trips at BCV or BWV. It's easier to walk into Epcot for food. I did that once a couple of years ago. Nothing at Boardwalk bakery was thriling, so I walked into Epcot, got breakfast at France, and walked out.

I did notice it getting crowded as we were headed over to Epcot. The bad weather was coming in. Movie theater in particular seemed crowded. Not a bad idea for a horrible weather night. Go eat dinner and see a movie or two.

I definitely was not raised on culture-y things, (and neither were our kiddos, really) but, I was raised just fine (although, how I turned out may be a different story  ;)), and so were our kiddos, and we always did (and still do) a lot of things together as a family...! :)
We took the kiddos to see The Lion King here in Austin, many years ago, and it was spectacular...!!! :)
But, it wasn't on Broadway...! :( ;)
I told my friend who went to DL with me that I want to do a long weekend in NY next. And that we absolutely have to see at least one Boradway show. I've seen a bunch of the traveling ones (Beauty and the Beast x3, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Lion King x2, Mary Poppins) but I SO want to see a real one, and we are less than 4 hours away by car.

his face on his mugshot looks like a "boys will be boys" type fancy rich kid protected by daddy o_O

I have no clue. He's 28 and was said to be the owner of the car. He could be just some young, rich, entrepreneur of some sort.
Either way, it just makes you shake your head. $385,000...!!!!!!!
Also, the fact that all 3 walked away from it is nothing short of a miracle.
Plus, what limited production Ferrari sports car even has seats for 2+ people...?
Unless the 3rd was laying in the back somewhere like Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off...?! o_O :cyclops: ;)
