I guess the $300.00 I just spent for an extraction (only) was a ripoff. Did they use Novocaine? Bridgework is not going to happen. Not only does it not show, in my case, but, at my age I will probably be on soft foods soon anyway.

This was about 15 years ago, so I guess the prices have gone up?! And yes, he did use Novocaine--no way in heck I could go through that without Novocaine!!

I think it was around the mid-60s that my father bought a Sony Trinitron color tv. I was a kid at the time, and just recall how awestruck I was at seeing the color peacock for the first time--as the expression went back then--"in living color" :inlove:
As long as all living things had a greenish tint to them. By the time one got the color adjusted, the program was over.

Actually, the color was outstanding on the Trinitrons (at least the model we had--perhaps there were some updates/improvements through the years, that Sony manufactured those?). It was a great TV--that's why my father specifically chose the Sony Trinitron at that time.

Good old Walt. My pups were small and they would only sit for a while. But they would follow me to bed and lay next to my legs. They made me feel cozy.
Walt was consider a giant Lab. He weighed more than my DD and me too. If he stood on his hind legs he was taller than me. So when he sat in your lap he knew you were not leaving.

Hubs and I are off to see one of the best movies of all time....."Singin' in the Rain". It is one of my favorite movies and because of Debbie Reynolds death TCM is sponsoring a nationwide showing of the film today and on January 18. I thought it would be fun to see it on the big screen. We have to drive up to the area by the Mall of America to see it but it should be fun. Unfortunately, it is because of a sad event that I get to do something fun though....have a great afternoon everyone!

Hope you had fun!

Bet you'll mis Singin in the Rain in the Great Movie Ride.

Thanks but no hiding under the blanket for me I'm getting things done while it's nice and quiet. The roads must not be all that great everywhere because quite a few churches cancelled services today.

Ice galore on the roads and sidewalks this morning then fog. There are still icy patches on the roads and sidewalks but much better than this morning. There was just a few minutes ago a head on collision up at the main road. Road still shut down. Ugh.

It just hasn't stopped raining, still better than snow. There are ponds of water everywhere. Not sure if the overall rain totals are that grand or if it is just the ground is still frozen solid so it has nowhere to go?

So glad y'all had an awesome night, and thanks for the info! :)
I've seen Casablanca more times than I've seen Singin' in the Rain, but they're both great flicks!
Another one of my favorites was on TCM this afternoon...Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Cary Grant and Myrna Loy...quite a bit of fun in that one...! :)

I've never seen the Dream House movie, I'll have to check it out sometime. I love old movies, that's when they made the good movies!

The Hilton is a lovely resort. The views are gorgeous. I prefer Aulani because of their awesome pools (and because minus the views of Diamondhead, I'm not a fan of Waikiki).

I actually did have a really bad trip to Hawaii in 2013, although not like the Brady Bunch episode. It was right after high school, and I was generally not in good health. We had gone to Disneyland and then to Aulani. I was fine in Disneyland, had a great time. We got to Aulani, and they were having an unusually wet summer. My allergies were terrible. I couldn't go outside at night, despite high doses of allergy meds. I was better during the day, but I felt so bad that I was basically stuck at the resort. Not that it was a bad place to be stuck, but I was not having a great time. It was a whole lot of sitting on a lounge chair. We nearly had to get off the plane home because I was not breathing well at all and we were debating an ER trip, but I told my mom, "Please just get me off this rock." Thankfully, we had a stop in Denver where I did a breathing treatment and started feeling better. And then I got home and had an emergency room trip two days later at home. A change in meds helped overall, and my next trip there was much better.

My parents are talking about doing another Disneyland/Hawaii trip this summer. I'm not planning on going since there's no way I can take the time off from work. I'm not sure whether I'll go for their August WDW trip. I was thinking I would, but I have such horrible seasonal affective disorder that I think I need to go south in January and maybe just come for a long weekend in August.

I would love to go to Aulani. It wasn't open the last time we were in Oahu though. We did fly over it when we went from Kauai to the Big Island. Next time I go we will stay at least one night at Aulani, but that isn't on the horizon.

What a story about your allergies, that must be tough. :(

Ugh, isn't winter fun.:rolleyes: (No, @MinnieM123, you don't get to vote on this...) Hubby just came home a little bit ago and said that it is really freezing rain. He said our sidewalk is pure ice and even the highway was a little iffy. Yuck!

Ah. My Dad wouldn't have bought a Sony back then being a veteran and a union man, just how some felt back then. For us it was either RCA Victor's or Zenith. I searched but can't seem to find a photo online of our first color TV, believe an RCA.
