Good morning, I'm going to have a fun day and get out while I can because we may get another system with ice move in tonight. :mad:I convinced a friend to take a ride out to an outlet mall and then hit a few craft stores. We're not going shopping we're escaping being stuck inside for way too many days this winter. My dh is taking my older ds with him to pick our little guy and have dinner at grandma's so I won't even have to cook tonight. I'm really going to try and enjoy today because tomorrow:cold::coldfeet::mad::cold::rolleyes::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

So I was a little wrong in my post that TCM was sponsoring the showing of "Singin' In the Rain" due to Debbie Renyolds passing away. Apparently they have a whole series planned to show in theaters across the country this year, a big screen classic film festival of sorts. This just happened to be the first film they planned to show for the year. Here is a link to what they plan to show in theaters this year: https://www.cinemark.com/tcm There is going to be a showing of Casablanca, another of my favorite films later this year so I might have to plan on that, but that isn't until November.

Anyway, seeing "Singin' in the Rain" on the big screen was fabulous! It was the way it meant to be seen. I was so entranced by the end of it I was so sad it was over. Although the lady in the row behind me left to go to the bathroom right when the Singin' in the Rain number started, who in their right mind leaves during that! It is the highlight of the film! Anyway, it was a great time. It will be shown again in theaters on Wednesday night so if you want to go check the theaters in your area.

Oh and we had dinner at 5 Guys, excellent!:)

Thanks for sharing all of this. I'll bet that Singin' in the Rain was outstanding on a big screen. Must also be great to come out of a theater feeling uplifted in spirit--and going to 5 Guys was a perfect way to celebrate!

Woof! $20...!!!
The most I ever remember getting was a quarter.
And, I'm pretty sure the most we ever gave any of our kiddos was $1... :cyclops:

Obviously, your Tooth Fairy and mine were cheapskates! And what's more frustrating is that when you're an adult and you have a tooth pulled out (failed root canal, etc.), you don't even get a quarter anymore!! :bawling: Instead, you get a bill from the oral surgeon for $80!!

So glad y'all had an awesome night, and thanks for the info! :)
I've seen Casablanca more times than I've seen Singin' in the Rain, but they're both great flicks!
Another one of my favorites was on TCM this afternoon...Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Cary Grant and Myrna Loy...quite a bit of fun in that one...! :)

$80.00??? On what street corner did you get that procedure done? Or was that after insurance?
