Morning everyone! Not much snow here--less than 1/2 inch. :( There's a lot of ice out there, though, and the sanding trucks have been going up and down our street all night. I went out at 3 this morning and threw some salt down on the steps to get the melting started. I'll have hubs drive me to a train this morning to get into work. I think by mid-morning all the streets will be ice-free, but when we go out at 7 a.m., the side roads may still be icy.

At least we get out early today from work for the long weekend! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

No snow....no even a flake for us. All bloody rain. I hate driving in the pouring rain. Well, there are flakes but that's the majority of people. :angelic:

No to rub it in.....After this week, I'm off until Thursday. Interview, yes, but still off. I want a job in or near Boston but doesn't seem to be happening.

Good morning we have power but we might lose it when the power company changes the pole today. At least we're supposed to get a text beforehand. Any how I'm getting laundry done while I can and if I get a text I'll just take the guys and run my errands. Winter stinks!

Sorry to hear that you lost power and may lose it again today. I'm not worried about food for your family, as I know you probably have enough food for 60 days, with the way you cook!!! Any food in the freezer will keep for at least 12 hours, provided the door isn't opened. Also, in past power outages, if it lasts a really long time, just put the food out back in secure tins/storage boxes. The cold weather will protect most of it until your power gets back on.

I'm such a dud on N.Year's Eve -- I always fall asleep well before midnight. (The next morning I watch the ball drop in Times Square on the news and do the countdown -- 10, 9, 8 . . .etc. -- after the fact . . . :hilarious: ) Hubs and I are really low key about N.Year's Eve celebrations (probably because we're broke after the expenses of Christmas, etc.-- :p ). But anyway, he goes out and gets take-out Chinese food and we have a little feast at home around 6:30 p.m. What can I say? We're such dull people!! :D

I hope you and Brian have a fun N.Year's Eve -- a toast at midnight will be fine!

I watch Doctor Who NY Eve o_O No ball drop for me for many years.

THNX and we'll be fine. We survived Sandy(no power for a week) so a few hours is a piece of cake. I have some errands I can run if it goes out again. At least if it does it will be controlled and not an oops. :hilarious: It was a bit funny watching the boys reaction to it:D

And today, he can wash the kitchen floor, and vacuum the rugs. He "owes" you for last weekend!! ;)

Unfortunately, he still isn't feeling good. The doctor has told him to get lots of rest. And he still doesn't have much of an appetite. But once he gets better.......

Oh he did get a text from his sister and they asked their kids what happened to my clothes. Apparently the kids were playing hide and seek (in the dark) and they decided to hide behind the air mattress where my stuff of and it fell and they just put it back. Whatever, I think they could have had other an better hiding spots.

Be careful out there. Have fun leaving work early! When is your last day? Make sure you use up any sick or vacation days before leaving for your new job!

We are pretty much duds on New Years Eve too. In the past we might do an early dinner, or go to a hockey game (it would be over by 9pm). But we like making snack foods and French dip sandwiches, playing games, and watching movies. We don't want to be out on the road with all the NYE drunks. Plus we often take our Christmas decorations down on New Years Day so it is the last time to enjoy our decorations for the season.

Last NYE was pretty awesome though since we spent it at Disneyland and California Adventure. I wish we were there this year, but with hubby feeling the way he is I guess it is good we didn't go this year.
