Thank you.
A) I've seen it dozens of times.
B) Does anyone ever really remember what to do when the time comes?
C) Except in the most minor incidents, does it even really matter?

Besides SkyMall is so fun. Like, who needs 3/4 of this stuff?
Turns out - nobody. :p Hence, the Chapter 11 filing.
Pretty sure that: 99% of the time, when the plane is falling.. it doesn't matter if you do the evacuation notice..
as soon the plane touches floor, the people will be splattered :/

Yes, it does, because seconds can save lives, and that's not restricted to minor incidents only. When I was in my late 20s, I took flying lessons (small Cessna). Trust me, the FAA was there on site every day at the airport and all these procedures were drummed into our heads. Same rules apply to large aircraft.
but you were drummed into your head because you were a pilot.
not a passenger :P

I was referring to catastrophic events. All those folks in the AirAsia flight were still strapped in their seats. Sometimes, it's just your time.

I was sort of being funny, but I really have heard it dozens of times. And I think a quiet moment of prayer produces the same results.

How did you like flying? One of my brothers took some lessons last year. He will probably start up again this summer. He loved it!
Go figure... Flying was one of my dreams since a child.
Then cancer and the treatment got me deaf.. Cant anymore.

Can you imagine if they did this in the department of underwears or even the "adults toy" area?

We had maybe an inch or two and is now coming down ice changing to rain. Therefore wiping out any snow. Of course the stupid plows come out to plow and they don't even do a good decent job.

As of a while ago, we had about 7=8 inches; and it's raining now, but supposed to turn back to snow in the early evening. Rail will just ice things up overnight with the colder temperatures later, which is lousey.

If there is no other advantage to getting old (and there isn't) it is that at some point one stops giving a rats butt about what others think of how you look. I have never let the "waist pack" leave thus no comeback was necessary. I find them handy and easy to deal with and anyone that doesn't like how they look can just... look the other way. Thought I was going to say something different didn't you?

You know, you could turn this all around. In the fashion world, older styles eventually come back in vogue. So if anyone looks at you funny about wearing your waist pack, you just tell them that you're on the cutting edge of fashion and ahead of the curve! Then follow that up with a condescending look and say, "peasant"! :p

I hate driving in snow too, or really I hate driving in any bad weather conditions. Hubby makes fun of me but I'd rather not have the stress and just stay put at home.

I respect the fact that you know your limits. If you get stressed out driving in bad weather (as I do as well), then don't drive. That way, you won't endanger yourself or others on the road.
(P.S.: I'm enough of a hazard as it is . . . :hilarious: )

I hope those small, waist packs come back in style. They were the best, small packs to wear at Disney and you never had to think about holding on to a purse or whatever, because they hooked on like a belt. I have a tiny, cross-body bag (as a consolation prize . . .) that I take with me nowadays to the parks, but I miss the waist packs. :(

I used to wear a f a n n y pack, years ago. I switched it out for a pair of cargo shorts, and a zip-lock bag for the wet rides. :)
