When I was in my late 20s, I took flying lessons (small Cessna).

Very cool! :)
I've wanted to learn to fly as far back as I can remember. I used to have flying dreams more than any other when I was younger. Either in an aircraft or on my own. Still do, but, not as often.
For one semester in junior high, I took a class called Aerospace. We learned about lift, drag, angle of attack, stall, etc.. We learned the instrument panel of a small single engine plane (it was either a Cessna 172 or 182). We made balsa wood gliders, hot air balloons, and rockets. It was sooo cool...!!!
Flying lessons are pretty darn expensive. :greedy:
Someday. Someday... ;) :)

I wish I had been offered your aerospace class prior to my taking lessons. It would have been very helpful. A lot of the training was like Greek to me; there were plenty of engineers who were flight students and they could pick up the concepts so easily. Me, I had to study a lot. The school had older (but highly maintained, up to safety specs) Cessnas--some 150s, 152s, and a 172 (in addition to other aircraft in the fleet, but the Cessnas were good beginner training planes, due to the visibility with the fixed high wings). Lastly, yes, it's a rich person's sport, that's for sure. It wasn't an easy decision for me to walk away from it years ago, but it was a practical decision.

Go figure... Flying was one of my dreams since a child.
Then cancer and the treatment got me deaf.. Cant anymore.

Sympathy "like". :(

I've posted this here before, but...
You should look into maybe doing what my DWifey and kiddos did for me on my 50th b-day.
They arranged an hour-long helicopter flight for me all over the Austin area. Even though it was in October, it was still warm enough to fly with the doors off (think M*A*S*H-style helicopter). We flew at an altitude of about 1,000-1,500 ft. over the soon-to-open Circuit of the Americas F1 track, downtown Austin, our house, etc.. The pilot (DWifey was kinda' worried at first, until she found out the guy was a former 20-year Army Blackhawk pilot vet, and also a Chief Pilot for our local air ambulance/rescue service) even got clearance to buzz down another small airport runway on our way back!
Sooo very cool...!!! :joyfull: :)
Could be cost-prohibitive, though.
To this day, I still don't know how much they paid... :cyclops:
