Okay, here we go again...

Today, I got this strange Facebook friend request from someone I didn't know. I saw that we had mutual friends, though, so I just left it, thinking maybe it just wasn't a name that I had remembered.

Then later in the car when I was with my aunt and my grandmother, she mentions again a guy she knows who she mentioned back at Thanksgiving. Except she mentioned his last name. That's when I realized that it was this guy's MOTHER friending me on Facebook, and I confirmed it this evening after finding his profile. I took one look at his profile and thought "No. Just, no." and then showed it to my mom to make sure I wasn't crazy when I thought the guy was just plain weird and too old for me.

So I deleted the friend request and will be having a very uncomfortable conversation with my grandmother tomorrow. Before, it was cute and kind of something I could just roll my eyes and laugh at. But this crossed the line. Ugh. If she weren't already in bed, she'd be getting an earful right now.

I can see how her meddling is annoying, and I wouldn't be pleased with it either. But it sounds like she wants you to be happy, so it at least it is coming from a loving place. But she does need to back off you will find someone if you want to and when the time is right. However, I don't think blind dates are that bad, I met my hubby because of one. ;)

Twitter said she is now fine in the hospital, in stable condition.

I wonder what happened. Only read that she was in very bad state while in a flight.

*edit*
nevermind, its on cnn now.. cardiac problems.
What a good luck to have a doctor and a nurse on board the plane D:

And she was pretty lucky it happened on the descent into their destination. Imagine if it would have happened while over the ocean with no where to land!

One time on the way back from Hawaii the lady behind us had a medical emergency 2hours into the flight. Luckily there were some medical people on board and it wasn't an extreme emergency, but it was still scary.

It's looking like our family Christmas celebration is going to be postponed. DD woke up with a fever of 102.2 so we gave her a paracetamol and sent her back to bed. Fever went down for a bit but a couple hours later she was at 104.5. Called urgent care, but they say the temperature isn't as important as how sick she feels. She can move her head with no problem, she's not lethargic, and she has no strange rashes, so they said just to keep giving her paracetamol and make sure she drinks plenty of fluids and call back if she gets worse. Poor kid is freezing, but burning up at the same time. We can't risk bringing it to my BIL, who had a kidney transplant 10 years ago and has to go to the hospital immediately if he gets a fever. So it looks like it's going to be a quiet Christmas at home. I REALLY hope the rest of us don't catch it...it's running rampant at the moment. More than 1/3 of the 6th graders were out sick the day of their Christmas party, and 2 of the 3 4th grade teachers were home sick too.
OMG I'm so sorry! I 'm sending prayers and pixie dust for a speedy recovery and nobody else gets sick xoxo

Our Advent calendar didn't have "prizes or candy". You would put them up on a window and everyday you would open up a door and a religious picture would show up like a stained glass window in church. It was just a countdown calendar to what my parents billed as "Jesus's birthday". I know that sounds pious for a person with my current reputation, but, we always loved getting up in the morning and opening up that little door. One day closer! Then again we didn't have video games to keep us occupied. For that I am forever grateful.
Ours is a Santa Mickey holding his bag and everyday you turn a tile to see a picture of a toy. On the last day is a little box smaller than a golf ball. Santa puts a Sacagawea coin in it every year.

Sounds like you've had some very happy preparations for Christmas, between school and your preps at home. This must be a huge day for your hubs, too, being a minister. I'm sure the church will be overflowing with people tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to you and all of your family--including your doggies!! :cat:

Merry Christmas to you, your hubby, and Jack!!!

Christmas prep is all done. Hubby has two services tonight, and since Christmas is on a Sunday he will have a service too. He finished all his prep for it yesterday, but he has a bad cough and his voice is going in and out. Not good with all the speaking he will have to do. I have him drinking honey and lemon water to help it, which he hates but he is doing it without complaint because he is so worried about losing his voice.

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she feels better soon and that all of you stay healthy!

Sister told me of a couple dogs being frozen to the ground. I hate people who don't take care of their pets in the winter. I cried for a week about this. It happened in Indiana. Stupid people live there I will never go back!
Ohio passed Goddard's Law this year and people are going to jail for not taking care of their animals.

Just an FYI, not all people in Indiana are stupid. I have wonderful family there.

@donaldtoo , sorry I wasn't online during your "live" medical report yesterday. Sounds a little like you're facing a mixed bag of results/suggested treatments. I hope all this gets straightened out for you, and I think it probably will--in due course. Might be a few steps at a time, but just hang in there. My hunch is that you will come out on top, once your medical treatment plan is completed. Having worked in a hospital for quite a few years now (and a medical clinic for a year prior to that), I can tell you that medicine cures are constantly evolving, and so many people are helped to overcome all kinds of medical ailments. I know we're all pulling for you here, and glad you're keeping us in the loop. You're very important to us.

Seems like you have an excellent doctor --

I wouldn't trust Mickey in a surgery.. one misplaced "ha ha" and you will be dead :hilarious:

Big hugs for you all!
Merry Christmas!

About to go feast in some delicious beef tongue stew!
Got any idea where that tongue has been? I'll pass on that. I still have memories of being newly wed and having my wife prepare tongue sandwiches, and then expecting me to actually eat them.
Actually I did eat them... the things we do for love. After about a year of occasional exposure, I sweetly asked that we end the inclusion of tongue on any future menu. In the words of "Meatloaf"... "I'll do anything for love, but, I won't do that!"
