I was looking back at some photos to delete. Remembering....I fail at pastry skills.

No, I just haven't had the energy to focus on it, with all that's going on at work this past month. All my energy at work has cut into my holiday preps in general, not just the dinner. I'll just find something at the supermarket on Saturday. And if there's anything pre-made (even for side veggies), I'll buy those. All I really want to do once I get out of work today is just crash for the next 4 days.

Awe. It has been rough for you.

I'm coming off 2 days of he-double toothpicks. I'm so looking forward to the next 2 days or so. Could be just what I need after the end to this week.

Heh, heh . . . we're both close to the brink of insanity. Sometimes, I think it would just be easier to try and not fight it--perhaps losing our (collective) minds completely, might bring us some relief! :p

The kids weren't too crazy at school today and they seemed to enjoy playing trivia and their afternoon of games in the gym. Like @figmentfan423 have almost everything done for Christmas. I came home from work and finished our premaking the food for our Christmas Eve dinner, my sister's house, and to take to the in-laws. I still have to stuff hubby's stocking and make our chocolate mousse yule log for dessert.

Seasons Greetings to you are all our friends on here!
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Sounds like you've had some very happy preparations for Christmas, between school and your preps at home. This must be a huge day for your hubs, too, being a minister. I'm sure the church will be overflowing with people tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to you and all of your family--including your doggies!! :cat:

@donaldtoo , sorry I wasn't online during your "live" medical report yesterday. Sounds a little like you're facing a mixed bag of results/suggested treatments. I hope all this gets straightened out for you, and I think it probably will--in due course. Might be a few steps at a time, but just hang in there. My hunch is that you will come out on top, once your medical treatment plan is completed. Having worked in a hospital for quite a few years now (and a medical clinic for a year prior to that), I can tell you that medicine cures are constantly evolving, and so many people are helped to overcome all kinds of medical ailments. I know we're all pulling for you here, and glad you're keeping us in the loop. You're very important to us.

Seems like you have an excellent doctor --

Well, it's a combination of things really. I'm 21 and have never been in a relationship. I haven't really met anyone I've really been interested in. When I was in high school, looking back, I was more mature than most of my peers, but dating someone older and more along the lines of what I was in maturity would not have worked. And for the past three and a half years, I've been so hyperfocused on school that I haven't had time to date. And even now that I've graduated, it's not top on my priority list. I really don't care if I get married or not.

Before, I've always just tried to remember what the history is for my grandmother. By the time she was my age, she was married and had my father. By the time her daughter (my aunt) was my age, she was married and had a kid. My mom (who was not her daughter, but still) was married for two years when she was my age. So in her mind, I'm at the age where I should be married. Nevermind that she got divorced twice and my aunt is divorcing her husband, so the only young successful marriage was my mom's marriage; in her mind, I'm 21 and out of school and it is time to get married.

She probably also has old, traditional ways of thinking. It wouldn't surprise me if she's also thinking I need a man so I can be taken care of. Not realizing that I'm extremely capable of taking care of myself, thank you very much. She also might be thinking that in order to be happy, I need children, which is definitely, 100% not the case at all.

So before this, I've just always brushed it off, but now I think I need to be firm with her and tell her to stop, because getting friend requests from the MOTHER of a guy she's trying to set me up with is just 1. creepy and 2. crossing the line.
Sympathy like. At least she hasn't hired a matchmaker yet that you know of:cautious:

It's looking like our family Christmas celebration is going to be postponed. DD woke up with a fever of 102.2 so we gave her a paracetamol and sent her back to bed. Fever went down for a bit but a couple hours later she was at 104.5. Called urgent care, but they say the temperature isn't as important as how sick she feels. She can move her head with no problem, she's not lethargic, and she has no strange rashes, so they said just to keep giving her paracetamol and make sure she drinks plenty of fluids and call back if she gets worse. Poor kid is freezing, but burning up at the same time. We can't risk bringing it to my BIL, who had a kidney transplant 10 years ago and has to go to the hospital immediately if he gets a fever. So it looks like it's going to be a quiet Christmas at home. I REALLY hope the rest of us don't catch it...it's running rampant at the moment. More than 1/3 of the 6th graders were out sick the day of their Christmas party, and 2 of the 3 4th grade teachers were home sick too.
