Hahaaa...!
Last year it lasted well over an hour, but, as usual, it was well worth the time, as Father Izzy is a hoot and a half, and the music was awesome...!
I was raised on midnight mass, for the most part, and so were our kiddos. It's actually kinda' funny, now that our kiddos are older, how much of an important tradition it has become for them...!![]()
I did indeed!
He's from Africa, and my folks are very close with him. He has been at their home many times for dinner and such, and he was also at the hospital to pray with all of our family just before pop had his quadruple bypass surgery.
He is a great man and a beautiful soul of a human being...!![]()

Even before I met my husband, going to church on Christmas Eve was an important tradition to me. It just wouldn't seem like Christmas to me without it. There is actually one song that I need to have played in church for it to be "right" to me. It was played in my church growing up and when I married Brad I was pleased to find out it was played at the church he was at. I actually told him if it wasn't played I would be going somewhere else. The song is a Norwegian song called "I am so Glad Each Christmas Eve", in my home church we sang some of the verses in Norwegian and I do miss that.
One year hubby accidentally skipped over the song in the service and went right into his sermon. I spent the whole sermon (all 5-7 minutes of it) fuming. I don't know if he noticed I was upset or what but after his sermon he back tracked and told the organist to play it. I was able to relax a little then.
Isn't it great when you get a pastor/priest you can really relate to. Mine were great growing up. My Catholics friends in our area really loved their last priest and were upset when he left. They think the new one is okay but they still talk about Father Tom.
It is better. I had xrays done of my back done and I have disc degeneration in my lower back/hip joint so I need to see a specialist in the new year.
We went swimming today, went in the ocean, and sipped frozen drinks by the pool (margarita for me, piña coladas for my mom and aunt). But it's not quite warm enough for the A/C to be running, at least at night.
I love pepperoni. Soo good!I never liked peperoni, not ever![]()
I kept thinking today was Sunday because there was football on.Funny! I don't judge him though, I keep forgetting that next Saturday is Christmas Eve as well.
When we were in the Dominion Republic one year for Christmas, Santa arrived in a speedboat up to the beach. In Rockport, MA, (seacoast town), they have Santa arrive on a lobster boat every Christmas season. It's a big deal and a huge crowd turns out. I went to see that one year, and it was fun!!![]()
P.S.: You can't see from this stock photo, but the other side of the view is high rocky cliffs where many people line up (hundreds of them) and also down into the dock area--the place is packed. What's particularly funny is that the adults in the crowd seemed to be more excited and animated to see Santa, than the kids!
