We tried to pay some teens to shovel. They weren't interested. I offered 50.00$, which I thought was reasonable. I got no takers. We don't have a long driveway. And I offered hot chocolate as well....Nope....We live in a crazy neighborhood. That was several years ago, when I had a back injury.

That is very disappointing. Granted, it was many years ago when my brothers would seek out snow shoveling jobs--they'd walk up and down the streets with their shovels and make a few dollars at various houses. I can guarantee you they would not turn down $50 today. Makes me wonder about the kids in your area--guess none of them are hungry . . . :cautious: (Also, my brothers would shovel for an elderly neighbor for just hot cocoa, as that was all she had to offer them. They accepted willingly, and never took a dime from that woman. My brothers were far from saints, but they were decent, hard-working kids.)

My brother either forgot or completely ignored my birthday. I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, that maybe he'd just be late. But more than 24 hours, and nada. Not a card or a phone call or even a facebook message. It's like I'm a non-entity. I don't list my birthday on Facebook or anything because I don't need the attention from everyone and the people I WANT to remember know when it is, so I don't NEED to post it everywhere. My best friends all remembered, my husband and his family remembered...my brother is the only one who forgot/didn't care.

Happy Birthday to you. Please enjoy some cake. (I hope you like chocolate.)

So sorry he forgot your birthday, I know how that feels. A couple years ago my dad forgot my birthday. I told my sister about it and she yelled at him for me and according to her he was surprised when she was getting mad about it. He really had forgotten. But when he called me the next day he claimed he hadn't called because he hadn't felt well, and because I was in California he didn't want to bother me. The excuses actually made me more upset.

My husband has two sisters, one is his twin. His older sister always puts big posts on Facebook on their birthday, but it is always about how great their sister (hubby's twin) is and how she should have a great birthday. Seriously it is on average about 2 paragraphs plus pictures and never a mention about her brother and that it is his birthday. She always posts this right away in the morning, and sends hubby a birthday text later in the day. This year he didn't get his birthday text until 11:55pm the night of his birthday. I know he was super hurt by it but just brushed it off. So yep...families can be a pain.

Anyway....HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):joyfull::happy:
