Good morning. I'm letting the guys sleep in before we head out to breakfast. Then it's off to the big farm market and other shopping. My dh has a list of stores that are offering discounts today so we may get some holiday shopping done. At least I'll get some mall walking done while he's getting his tires rotated(free) and an oil change(nice discount).

Cool about the guitar! I'll take a free one anytime! :)
What brand is it, and does it have metal or nylon strings?
It wasn't very difficult for me to pick up on. Since you already play two stringed instruments that are non-fretted, it should be easier. Plus, your callouses should already be built up for the fretting. I have minimal experience with the drums and piano, but, the guitar is the only instrument I can really play.
I have an electronic tuner around here somewhere that I purchased several years ago, but, I can't remember the last time I used it. I mostly tune by ear with an old school method...tighten the high "E" (note wise) string until it feels like it's about to snap, then tune the other 5 strings to it in the standard ear-tuning method/pattern.
I used to pull out the e-tuner sometimes after I ear-tuned to see how close I was. It's amazing how my ability to hear the proper tuning evolved over the years. Some are naturals, for others of us there is a learning curve, but, we eventually catch on. Others, no hope.
I have a lot of picks, but, I rarely use them. I much prefer finger picking.
I've only ever had one electric guitar before, but, it was a blast...!!! :joyfull:
So fun to hear the same songs played with a little added volume and distortion...! :)
Plus, guitars are very versatile and portable.
Have fun...! :)

You're a talented little fella!!

It's funny the variety of things done at schools...my daughter's middle school has a big program with the band playing and vets coming out to be honored, but 10 miles away at my high school it was suggested (by myself and another teacher) to have a similar type program and we were told that there didn't need to be 'another assembly that took kids out of classes for no reason.' No reason??

Wow . . . discouraging, isn't it?

Thanks and I noticed that in my e-mails this morning. If I organize myself properly I can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at three different places within a mile from my apartment. Of course, I will also gain a gazillion pounds, but, who would notice? :) P.S. I have many copies of my DD 214 plus my VA Card... so I'm set.

If they are all within a mile you could always walk to off set the food. :) (I would probably still drive though.;))
