I'm just really in a funk. One of my best friends just lost his significant other after a long battle with cancer:( She was a very sweet woman who kept him in line. We were all looking forward to both of them coming up Christmas week for a day or 2. I'm a bit worried with the holidays coming up because he lost his mom(close friend of mine) a few years ago. I'm hoping between his sister and myself we can at least keep him busy. The rest of the week is going to be very rough:(:(:(:(:(

Oh, that's rough. Sorry for your loss and your (understandable) funk. Maybe the best thing for him now is having you guys around during the holiday season. That's the toughest time of the year to deal with a recent loss of a loved one.

Its free publicity.

It sure is! But it's also a very nice gesture to come up with the idea to begin with. Heck, I don't even watch sports, but I can appreciate it when a whole pile of people are just so happy. There's so much negativity in the world, and it's refreshing to see so many smiling faces in the crowd (on TV). It's nice when companies step up as well, even if they get some advertising out of it (I've never tried that brand of ice cream before, but I heard it's good.)

Who wants my weather because I don't want it. It's (insert string of very bad words) yucking out. Sorry but yuck is the only way to describe a mix of, sleet, freezing rain and snow. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rant over going off to sew some fleece

I'm sorry to hear about your weather, but I'm not going to take it off your hands. Send it to @MinnieM123 she might want it.

Cool visual. I would share this with hubby but I can't show him any of this kind of stuff because he is so superstitious. I don't want to be the jinx.

Hello all,

Thought I would give an update as I have not been around a few days. I'm still behind on homework from when I had a migraine, but I'm getting caught up. I got a test out of the way today, which is what I was most worried about, and I got a 93 on it, which is good considering I didn't make it through the study guide. Basically, I'm behind in one class, which shouldn't be that hard to catch up in. And now I've got an ear infection. Went to the doctor last night (thank goodness I go to an office where there is someone there in the evenings) and I'm on antibiotics. Lovely. So I'm worn out, but at least it no longer feels like I've got a knife in my ear.

As far as work goes, in order to finish my hours and have it count for internship credit, I have to work all day this Friday, Monday morning, and all day next Friday. Once I have my paperwork done, I'm giving two weeks notice, but only agreeing to come in for two more Fridays. After that, I'm out. I'm hoping, however, that they just tell me to not worry about working any more days. At least there's an end in sight.

Now that we're done with the bad news, let's go with the good news. I had a phone interview today with a company located just 15 minutes from home that went very well. I'm guessing I will have NO trouble finding a job for after I graduate, and if nothing else, I'm networking for now, which is really important. I had that mastery class where I had to sing a piece for an instructor, and it went very well, which felt good. I do not have to work tomorrow, so I have two classes right in a row, so I go to class 12 pm-3:15 and that is the extent of my day. I did not quit my tutoring job, and I'm putting on more tutoring hours. Paid slightly less than what I'm making now, but far more convenient and far less of a headache.

So, that's that. For now. Hopefully I should be back a bit more than I have been.

So sorry to hear that. That must be very hard for you, and especially for your friend. Best wishes.

So nice to hear from you!! My goodness, you've been busy--no rest for the weary?! Good luck with all that you're presently juggling. As the expression goes, "when it rains, it pours" but then the sun comes out afterwards. :cat:
