Hello all,

Thought I would give an update as I have not been around a few days. I'm still behind on homework from when I had a migraine, but I'm getting caught up. I got a test out of the way today, which is what I was most worried about, and I got a 93 on it, which is good considering I didn't make it through the study guide. Basically, I'm behind in one class, which shouldn't be that hard to catch up in. And now I've got an ear infection. Went to the doctor last night (thank goodness I go to an office where there is someone there in the evenings) and I'm on antibiotics. Lovely. So I'm worn out, but at least it no longer feels like I've got a knife in my ear.

As far as work goes, in order to finish my hours and have it count for internship credit, I have to work all day this Friday, Monday morning, and all day next Friday. Once I have my paperwork done, I'm giving two weeks notice, but only agreeing to come in for two more Fridays. After that, I'm out. I'm hoping, however, that they just tell me to not worry about working any more days. At least there's an end in sight.

Now that we're done with the bad news, let's go with the good news. I had a phone interview today with a company located just 15 minutes from home that went very well. I'm guessing I will have NO trouble finding a job for after I graduate, and if nothing else, I'm networking for now, which is really important. I had that mastery class where I had to sing a piece for an instructor, and it went very well, which felt good. I do not have to work tomorrow, so I have two classes right in a row, so I go to class 12 pm-3:15 and that is the extent of my day. I did not quit my tutoring job, and I'm putting on more tutoring hours. Paid slightly less than what I'm making now, but far more convenient and far less of a headache.

So, that's that. For now. Hopefully I should be back a bit more than I have been.
Sympathy like. But just remember that it's just life, and everything eventually works out somehow, and pain is temporary....we hope! I know this is a fairly positive outlook, but it's a Disney board after all. Aren't we all supposed to live happily ever after, dammit?

Anyway, keep your chin up. Everything will be alright. :)

So nice of Blue Bunny. I love when people get into the spirit of the game, and something for the fans. It was a hard choice to pick a team, as our state is in the middle of both teams. I picked Cubs, and I visited Chicago during the holidays, and loved that city. Sorry, I never got to Cleveland.

My Sis has lived in Cleveland for 30+ years now. While some aspects of Cleveland to me anyhow were always awesome others not so much. Over the 30 years Cleveland has changed a great deal, lots of money invested in some areas and yet it seems to keep its own vibe.
I wish I could sew. Not a job well learned in my youth, even though I took sewing lessons. We each have our own talents, good morning, I'm just about off to shower and make breakfast. I like getting up earlier, since we have been walking, my sleeping is better, and getting up earlier is easier. Can't figure that out!

I was taught by my Gran to sew. I taught my Mom but she really butchered stuff. So not her thing but she didn't realize it. I made elaborate halloween costumes over the years, so fun.

I always feel so much better with exercise. Getting that heart rate up just makes you feel better. I'm almost to the end of my bike season. Sadness.

I took a drink after the headache wouldn't go away. Took care of it in 30 minutes. Go figure how this works, it's now a medicine for me, ha!

Tequila is a strange liquor. It has some very good things about it in moderation for cholesterol, heart rate, blood sugar and more. You go back in time to more holistic medicine and some of that stuff actually works. They're is zero $$$ in it for Doc's so most quickly poopoo and no drug company is going to provide research. I look at Green Tea and Ginger-so many properties that tame so many illnesses. My thought, something works-go for it.

Yeah and all of a sudden they are saying wine before bed will help you lose weight - although if that was true, I would weight about a pound and a half right now.

I'm just really in a funk. One of my best friends just lost his significant other after a long battle with cancer:( She was a very sweet woman who kept him in line. We were all looking forward to both of them coming up Christmas week for a day or 2. I'm a bit worried with the holidays coming up because he lost his mom(close friend of mine) a few years ago. I'm hoping between his sister and myself we can at least keep him busy. The rest of the week is going to be very rough:(:(:(:(:(

Oy. I'm so sorry. We've all seen too much of this year.

I'm too wondering how the holidays will proceed. Today my DD found a box of Susan B Anthony dollars my Dad gave her.
Oy

We have everything, groceries, shopping, hospital within bus distance, or walking, if that works. But, with that too many people and too much development, in such a small town. The city planner wants us to act like a big town. The one positive, we are close to everything, and as we are aging, being close to essential services is very nice. We are where we should be at this stage of our life. When hubby takes everything out of the basement, our house is one level, with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, family room, living, dining room and two bath's. More than I like to keep up, but laundry , mud room is across from the bedroom. So we are really set . If I could change the weather, this would be perfect. We realize, on a fixed income, moving is much too costly. This house is now over 22 years old, so we know we are in for some major expenses, air, furnace, plumbing, etc. But all that combined it is so much cheaper to live here. We love the tax reduction, but it used to be free property taxes after 65, with 10 years in the home. Oh, for the good old days!;););)

I hear you. That last recession/depression hit so many so hard. I know with our school district with the lower property values the taxes that were coming in were so much lower it messed with the budgets. It hit every area of local governments. Our library had too cut way back too. It is nice you still get a tax break for being a long time resident and senior. Sorry about free gone bye.

It sure is! But it's also a very nice gesture to come up with the idea to begin with. Heck, I don't even watch sports, but I can appreciate it when a whole pile of people are just so happy. There's so much negativity in the world, and it's refreshing to see so many smiling faces in the crowd (on TV). It's nice when companies step up as well, even if they get some advertising out of it (I've never tried that brand of ice cream before, but I heard it's good.)

It is a very different type of ice cream. It has a lot of air vs creamy like Eddy's. Kids really like it because it is also much sweeter.
