Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I had parent teacher conferences today from 11-7 and I had less than 20 parents show up. I have about 130 kids and I have 28 of those 130 for two different subjects (so twice a day). That's the worst turn out I've ever had in my 17 years of teaching. We have conferences from 5-8 next week so it will be interesting to see if we have more parents. Maybe, since I email parents progress reports very week they felt didn't feel the need to come in.

I did have one student show up that kept lying about turning in her work claiming I lost it, yeah that didn't happen. She has been gone at least one day a week since the second week, all the work was sitting undone in the folder wher I put stuff for absent kids. She never picked it up. That didn't seem to change mom's mind, it was still my fault. :cautious:

Much earlier than our school district. In middle school we had the choice of days, individual teachers or team where you got them all at once. I didn't care for that.

Gosh I hated middle school for my kids. My DD had more nightly homework hours than she was in classes during the day. She'd start at 4pm and usually finish at 11pm.
She said she felt like she attended school and then was home schooled at night.
High School wasn't much better. College was far more manageable.

My son is in NOLA His hotel is not showing the game nor is it available in room. So they are out at a Sports Bar and being a Monday night they close at 10pm. They announced last call, the patrons boo'd. They are still open.
I can imagine the owner of the bar being pelted with peanuts and other kind of food fragments for trying to close down the bar during a game. :hilarious:

Good idea!
Thank you. Both my grandmothers crocheted, sewed, knitted and embroidered so I learned most of that from them except for quilting. We had a friend of the family who was an amazing quilter, I'm the only one who quilts:( My James does some plastic canvas projects when he has the time. As for general crafting I was very lucky in grammar school I had an art teacher who introduced us to many different crafts.

Well what did you get? :hungry:
Tomatoes and peppers, lots of peppers(bell and 2 types of hot) because I'm not sure how much longer they will be in season, eggplant and lots of that for the same reason, arugala, dandelion greens, beets, green and yellow squash(surprised it's still holding on), 10 very large butternut squash for $10, a couple of pears, yellow beans, carrots, potatoes, onions and a 1/2 bushel each of Crispin and Jonah Gold apples. guess what I'm doing today. i also got a nice surprise at the fabric store fleece was on an even better sale than I thought it was and my coupons were for 20% off sale price guess I'll be prewashing all of that today. We had lots of fun and James was very helpful picking apples, M not so much, he's not a fan:cautious:

Guess that is what I love about Pups. They are unconditional. Some humans are very harsh about how they view appearances and not just not Pups. I continue to be stunned by what comes out of peoples mouths. Don't get it.

Now Walt was a good Judge of Character. : ) Still really miss him.

I miss him, too.
