Guess that is what I love about Pups. They are unconditional. Some humans are very harsh about how they view appearances and not just not Pups. I continue to be stunned by what comes out of peoples mouths. Don't get it.

Now Walt was a good Judge of Character. : ) Still really miss him.

Pups are so wonderful, that unconditional love is something really special. I know how you feel about Walt, I miss my Henry everyday and it has been almost 2 years. I know he was a dog, but he saw me through a lot of low points.

I will be on the edge of my seat during Tonite's Giants/Cubs game. My Cubs blanket is coming along nicely. If the Cubs win the World Series, it will make a nice gift for my older son. If not, well, let's not think about that at the moment.

It will still make a great gift. You cubs fans have been through a lot and know how to be proud of your team no matter what. Hubby is a cubs fan and he is eager for the game tonight too.

My daughter's watching the Indians game in her room because I'm too loud watching it in our family room. :D

I have a problem with my daughters Pit. I have done nothing to encourage anything from her. I don't bring treats, I do occasionally pat her on the head or scratch behind her ears, but, nothing else. Yet, every time I go there she gets so excited that it is amazing that she hasn't punched holes the the wall with that cast iron tail of hers. See runs up and down the hallway, goes into the other room to get her bone and brings it out to show me. Is forever trying to jump up on me. My daughter says she doesn't get that excited about anyone else. All I can think of is it must be my magnetic personality or she has one highly tuned ability to judge people. I have to go for the first one. Anyway, I kinda feel guilty about it, since I put so little effort in that person/dog relationship. When she starts looking like she wants to rip my arm off, I will probably start giving out treats.

He's lucky. I didn't have a phone until high school, and I didn't have text messaging until my mom figured out that I could discretely check my phone for a message from her at lunch without a staff member bothering us about it. And even then, I could text her and no one else.

You're lucky. I didn't have a cell phone 'til I was in my mid 40's. ;)
Fortunately, by that time, my mother wasn't involved in any way in that decision...!!!!! :hilarious: :D

Must be your magnetic personality.;) I think dogs are able to judge character as well. We had a dog growing up who never had a problem with anyone except one of my sister's boyfriends. The dog hated that guy, growled, nipped, and barked at him from the moment the dog met him. Turns out the dog was right, the guy was a major creep, but the dog only acted that way with him. So your daughter's dog probably can sense you are a good egg.

I'm cheering for Cleveland on the American League side now that the Orioles are out. On the National League side, I will cheer for either the Dodgers or the Nats, depending on who wins that series. Last year I was hoping the Cubs would win the World Series solely because of Back to the Future...

Well, maybe you're just a year late... ;)

I had parent teacher conferences today from 11-7 and I had less than 20 parents show up. I have about 130 kids and I have 28 of those 130 for two different subjects (so twice a day). That's the worst turn out I've ever had in my 17 years of teaching. We have conferences from 5-8 next week so it will be interesting to see if we have more parents. Maybe, since I email parents progress reports very week they felt didn't feel the need to come in.

I did have one student show up that kept lying about turning in her work claiming I lost it, yeah that didn't happen. She has been gone at least one day a week since the second week, all the work was sitting undone in the folder wher I put stuff for absent kids. She never picked it up. That didn't seem to change mom's mind, it was still my fault. :cautious:

Are you superstitious about the Cubs at all? My husband is and I think he is going to freak out a little when he sees the Sports Illustrated cover featuring the Cubs. When they had the Bears on the cover during the playoffs or going into the Super Bowl, the Bears lost and he was convinced that SI had jinxed the Bears.

Yep, the SI cover jinx theory has been around for a while.
