It's only 6 pm and I'm awake. Body saying what the heck lady. Should stop looking at Fitbit

Go for a ride on Space Mountain! I love Space Mountain, even though it is a smidge rough around the edges. I just wish they didn't add that stupid trim brake; I like hurtling through space at warp speed!!! :joyfull: (Glad you're having a nice break down there at WDW. Oh, have you swam in the swimming pool at your hotel yet? )

I did that too, sometimes my leg would go to sleep. Nope I'm not going to move.:D

Like right now my dog is laying in between my legs and I would like to get my phone but that is across the room. So If I get up to get the phone she would have to be disturbed. So the phone will stay where it is until she moves and then I can get up. Man, is she spoiled.

Today they had Willy Wonka on TV and I felt compelled to watch it. During the show all of a sudden a memory popped into my head. The first "movie" date that I went on with my X was Willy Wonka at a drive-in. Don't remember what the second movie was. And keep your mind out of the gutter @JenniferS. ;)

The first movie I remember seeing at a drive-in was a re-release of 101 Dalmations. The first movie I ever remember seeing in a theater was Tora! Tora! Tora!.
The theater was called Century 21. It was these 3 huge domes, with the largest one in the middle. Sooo cool back in the day!
It was granted historic status by the city of San Jose in '14.

I never watched the Johnny Depp version either. It seemed a little wacked out with what I saw in the previews. Sorry I can't help you out but it is an interesting question. Maybe someone else has seen both and read the books.

I've seen both movies. The original more times than I remember, the second a coupla' times...maybe 3? Definitely like the original better. The remake is definitely a bit odd.
I think we read the book in elementary school, but, I don't remember anything about it... :cyclops:
I always watch the original when I know it's on...! :)

No, I think it's probably more like 1989. You know, back when utilities had normal sounding names that meant something like New England Telephone, or Boston Gas Company, etc. Heck, I once lived in a town that you could pay your telephone bill at their office, and they even accepted cash for payment! There were nice people working at the counter who'd smile and address you by your first name, and they all spoke English, too! But, I digress . . . :p
But you had to pay charges for long distance phone calls, if you wanted to make a phone call while you were out, you had to stick a quarter in a crummy payphone that about 1,000 other people had also used, you had to do research in libraries, you had to actually pay for calculators, you had to go to a video store if you wanted to rent a movie, you had to use a phone book to look up local businesses and actually pick up a phone and call them for information instead of just going to their websites, Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King didn't exist, and neither did Pixar, if you needed something typewritten, you had to use a typewriter...I mean, how did you ever survive?

:hilarious:;)
