I agree. There certainly are plenty of guests that can easily afford the signature restaurants. That said a good chunk of them seem to mix it up between typical TS and Signature. Certainly Disney wants to focus on the highest of rollers. Tiffins just tells me in its short span of life mega wealthy don't just give their money away, they have a Bar Set for expectations too.

Me I'm waiting to see how this all floats out after a couple years. Right now the QS with indoor seating that are new at Springs are Packed as is the TS Homecoming with doable pricing. We shall see.

A mega outlet mall opened near Ohare Airport. Ground Floor average clothing stores. Upstairs elite. I believe open two years now and the stores upstairs are starting to close while the ones below are thriving. Lets face it the over the top wealthy are a small percentage.
plus those who fake being elite(aka faux 3%'s like the spirited1974 loved to mention) can only afford so much until they are in ruins or forced to budget.

We have decided to skip a second trip next year. One time , with the kids in the summer using our points. As a DVC, member we are only doing one time from now on. Going other places and seeing other things.

Ive spent at least one full year of my life at Walt Disney World. Ive been there for every Holiday.

Its time to see the rest of the world.

Still investigating, but it sounds like the restraint failed and he hit the netting. The restraint was evidently made of velcro.

Edit: This site has the most information. Not 100% sure of their reliability, but information elsewhere is still scarce.

Dunno about that, but they said the kid was very skinny. could he have slipped? or worse, he removed it trying to tighten it up?
the kid flying after the first drop.. yikes.. he must have hit the concrete/plastic slide once he was bounced back from the net.. x_x

Been enjoying the Olympics this weekend. Love to see such positive energy from all the international athletes. It's also fun to see all the team clothing designs, too. The backdrop of Rio is beautiful (I know that the camera shots are not showing the poorer sections of Rio, etc., or low tide at the Copa beaches), but the overall scenery views are stunning. With all the negative worldwide news over the past year, it's refreshing to see such an uplifting event.

I have been enjoying the olympics too. Hubby is a sports fiend so it is right up his alley. He is planning on going into work early so he can watch more olympics during the day. Rio has always looked like a cool place to visit. Maybe I'll get there's one day. Maybe Disney will build a park down there.

USA Today reports that the restraints are velcro. That sounds very safe. Not. They also reported that the ride has an age requirement of 14, so someone that young should not have been on the ride. The kid was also the son of a Kansas state Representative.

Seems the slide may never reopen. Future of that waterpark might also be in question.
