Thanks for sharing. My grandson is already in school, we live near Denver, they started today. Such a short summer for our guys. I'm sorry to hear about your daddy, and your mom, working so hard. We all love Disney on here. There is so much to love about Disney. Our first trip was when our Daughter was two. She still loves Disney, and has written a couple books, to help new people to get to know Disney and how the system works. She also has a web blog. She is the "all Disney girl, all of the time."
Going to a Christian School we don't have a lot of those holidays and Teachers Professional days my Public school friends have so we start late and still get out on May 26th. I really never got to know my Daddy since he was killed when I was 3 months old and my Big Sis really don't remember much about him either as she was only 3 years old. My Mom has told us both as ton about him though. My Mom is wonderful and I don't know what i'd do without her. Like I said we may not be able to go to Disney all the time, but I am blessed to have what I have. That is awesome what your daughter does. Is she on here?

Thank you, sweetie.

We actually just lost my step grandfather last month. It's been a rough few months.
I am so sorry. I know about loss even though I was only 3 months old when my Daddy was killed in the line of duty as a Police Officer. I didn't know what loss was than, but growing up without a Daddy was always hard for me and I know it was for my Big Sister as well.

Thanks. We're hoping he'll pull through, but he's been in such poor health for so many years. My dad would likely have to go home and then come back because they're Jewish, which means they bury their dead extremely quickly. It would likely just be him as taking my brother home in the middle of a trip would be extremely upsetting for him, and my mom, while she has every confidence that I'd be able to handle him, does not want to put me in that position.

Hopefully he'll pull through, though, at least for now.
That is rough. I remember the back stories you've recalled of your dads experiences as a very young man. Pixie Dust flying for all of you and some hugs too

I'm sorry. That's terrible. Girls need their daddies.

I was about your age the first time I experienced loss. My great grandmother passed at the end of my eighth grade year. Since then, I've lost my maternal grandmother, my stepgrandfather, and now my grandfather will likely pass. To be honest, losing my great grandma and my step grandfather was the roughest.

With my paternal grandfather, he's been going downhill for a long time. He's been in a nursing home for a while. He doesn't remember his grandchildren. He thinks he's still married to my grandmother even though they divorced in the sixties. It's been a long time coming.

At least, though, we're just in WDW, which is about a two hour flight away, and not California or Hawaii, which are two of our other vacation spots (and would be harder for my dad to leave early and come back).

No, she has a web sight called, Disney Enthusiast . This is not a commercial for her sight. She, has loads of pictures of Disney on her sight. And it's free. It's fun to browse around her sight. I'm very proud of her. Or, can you tell?;););)

It is hard not to have my Daddy, but I know he is in a better place. Losing someone so close to you is so hard and that even goes for pets as well. Like I said if your Grandfather is suffering as tough as it may be to lose him it may be what is best for him to be in a better place. Hope I am not stepping over any boundaries here.

As much as it is still hard for you having Disney as a distraction can help a little.
