I have never posted pics before, so I am sorry about the doubles. Anyway, those are my brand new parakeets. Spin was cute. Every time my camera beeped, he would chirp at me. I think he thought the camera was a bird when it made it's beeping noise. Marty has been more docile today than yesterday. Spin pays more attention to me, and Marty retreats to the corner of the cage. They were quite comical as Marty pushed the seed stick in the corner, so he could chew on it, and Spin kept walking on top of it.

When my grandson told me they were both males, the first boy/male duo that popped into my head, was Spin and Marty. Especially when Marty was sitting in the pet store cage all alone, and the other birds were ignoring him. I grew up watching Spin and Marty in the 1950's.

Marty McFly and Doc, not the first male duo that popped into my head. Some people don't name their pets anymore. In fact most of my grandson's pets don't have any names. Except for maybe the one guinea pig that his girlfriend left behind. He did name his cat.

Oh, Spin and Marty did not come to mind at all. You say Marty to me, and all I can think of is Marty McFly. (Also, I've seen those movies too many times).

IDK about your grandson, but I will always name my cats. I can't just go around calling the cats "Cat." Though, with all of the cats we've had, if they get into trouble, their name is suddenly "Cat!":hilarious: The first two we had, who sadly passed away, were Mischief and Moxie. Now we have Belle. Named after the princess because she thinks she is a princess.

I need to get back to the pet store, and get the right food for our parakeets. All they had when we bought the birds was a fruity mix. Spin, and Marty totally chewed up an entire seed stick in one day yesterday. They are obviously missing their correct food, or the kind they were eating at the pet store. I also still want to pick up a few smaller toys. Maybe something with a bell, or a mirror. My husband works in the same room with the birds. When he isn't talking on the phone, he is talking to the birds.

Good morning chit chatters! I hope you had a good weekend! I'm going through a little Disneyland withdrawl today especially since our annual passes officially expired yesterday. :( And for some reason it has been tough to adjust back to Central time after being on the west coast, I've been dragging a little. I guess I'm getting old. I planned to get up early take the dog for a walk and clean my porch. Instead I woke up around 8:30 had my coffee and now don't feel like getting anything done. I think I will allow myself another lazy day and tomorrow I'll get something done. My dog doesn't seem to mind another lazy day! :)

We moved the birds into the dining room, and we found a perfect spot. My husband works in the dining room, and there are two desks in there. One was mostly a catch-all, and the other is actually the desk that my husband uses when he works. My husband cleaned off all of his junk, and now the birds are in the absolutely perfect spot. The space in the living room can new be used for something else. Mostly likely a new bookcase for all my husband's stuff. He has accumulated so much stuff, over the years.

The birds have been chirping all morning, and they ate, and they spent quite a bit of time sitting next to each other. I can actually hear them at the other end of the house from where I am typing from now. I am going to take a few pics of them with my camera.
Can't wait to see your new family member's.

I loved the Spin and Marty series.
