We only had to deal with a wheelchair once in WDW, my DD was maybe 70 pounds, she took a bad fall in the AKL because of those stupid legs that jet out on their beds. I was surprised too even though she was light the different muscles you use pushing them up the hills in Epcot and AK and the ramps. My DD was also in a wheelchair for a couple months a few years later with a weird break of bone in her foot. I learned Woodfield ramps are nasty.

I should have not been surprised though cause I pushed strollers up the ramps at the monorails. That wasn't fun. Worse when there was a queue on the monorail ramps and you had to stop and pause. My guess is this why the electric carts have become more popular.
She is, I just saw her pictures.

I'm glad that I am the main planner on this trip. Everyone else a a relative newbie.
My dad and I plan the trip together now. Back when I was a kid, he did all of the planning, but he now shares the responsibility with me. He basically lets me do all of the FP+ reservations after he found out at the end of one of our trips that I went in the system and changed everything around. And when during one of our trips, he and my mom were fighting with the MDE app to change a FP, I quickly changed them around on my computer to what they wanted...while they were still fighting with it. My dad just tells me where our dining reservation is and lets me change it. He also asks for our input when planning, which is nice.

A few years ago I took my long-time friend with me to WDW. She let me handle the planning and just went along with it. Now I'm taking the same friend to Disneyland, and she's basically just letting me plan it and going along with it. I guess she figured it worked out the last time, so she'll let me do the same thing this time.

Think long and hard about trying to do it in a wheelchair. The year we went after DH twisted his ankle, I finally realized how many ramps, inclines, etc. there are in that place. I couldn't have pushed him all day. And then, when we got off the monorail at MK. I guess I would just yell, Look out below! and hoped for the best. Whee!
Absolutely. Even some ramps for rides (IASW comes to mind) need a good push up.

I'm so glad we didn't book the Plaza. The chicken strawberry salad and turkey sandwich are both gone:(:(:(:(:( Last time I got a wonderful salad sans animal products with assorted greens, tomato and enough berries for a meal:) my dh loved the turkey sandwich not heavy but filling. The nice "fancy" salad has been replaced with a wedge salad with ranch dressing:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

I love ice tea, but with kidney stones, it's not allowed. I miss ice tea very much.:(
Why, what's the connection to kidney stones? They never told me to cut back and they knew that I was an Iced Tea freak. Puzzled!! :bookworm::confused:o_O Don't kidney stones require some kind of calcium to form? I don't know of anything in tea except the 99.5% water that seems like it should be beneficial to keep stones away.

Maybe you have to be native to Illinois, but this stuff never appealed to me. And it has been at my local farmers mkt since the first one. Which always makes me wonder, where the heck did it come from?

DH and I took the trip up to a local farm Sunday, even though it was hotter than, well, hot. Best corn, zucchini to make zucchini lasagna, and grapes. Oh, and Southern Illinois peaches. Yum.:hungry:

I saw an article that said the new menu was not so great. I will have to look at it.

I am back from the doctor. Thankfully, I did not receive any earth shattering news. I wasn't happy when I asked the doctor if he had looked at my X-ray, and he said, "What Xray?" He then left the examining room, and had my X-ray on a laptop computer. He showed me my bone spur, and said that that is not causing my pain. He actually could not pinpoint the reason for the pain that I was having. Basically, I injured my foot by overdoing, and I need to rest it, and ice it, as much as I can. He did not say anything about pain medication, but I haven't been taking anything stronger than maybe one advil gelcap a day anyway. Bottom line, I got a better pair of insoles, for my shoes, from the doctor, and I have to see him again in three weeks.

It is good to know that I don't need any kind of surgery, and a cortisone shot would not help me at all he said. Did I waste my time going to the doctor. No. It's good to know what I don't have, and don't need. Now some good old common sense will help me along the way, and see how I feel in three weeks.
