My DD mail lock box receives mail daily that isn't hers, let alone belonging to anyone in the business or other apartments. Fortunately for her she doesn't do paper payments or statements. What of hers doesn't make it isn't critical.

I live in a very old community. We have mail walked up and delivered to our door mailbox. I guess even the US Post office has difficulties changing delivery options.
We have walk up delivery. We finally have a good person, but I can't tell you how many times we have had to call the Post Office. Our mail, and often my neighbor's mail would end up at a few different places in the neighborhood. We would get other people's mail. And sometimes, it wouldn't show up at all for a few days.

I had my foot xrayed, and the doctor thinks I have a heal spur. However, I also got a referral to a podiatrist, who I am seeing on Tuesday. I want to know one way, or another, exactly what I have. The doctor I saw today mentioned a cortisone shot. I will talk that over with the podiatrist when I see him on Tuesday. I have heard/read both positive, and negative about that treatment.

My trip is 38 days away.
I am so far behind, that would make your appointment today. Good luck, and I hope you get answers!

Ya know ... It has been FAR too long since I last posted anywhere on this site. Look what has happened! Maybe I'll stop lurking and start participating again. I still love Disney, even with their foibles and mis-steps over the past few years. Going back again to celebrate my 60th in a couple of months. I will NEVER grow up!

Welcome Back! Hope you enjoy your time with us here. :D

Again, I get all that.
I'm sure whoever hands out the invites to these things isn't contacting the kiddos and parents first.
Presumably, the principal and/or band director are contacted first, and they probably need to take a little more time to evaluate the community if they feel the financial situation could be a potential problem, before they spread that news all over the place. After all, isn't that part of their job...knowing a little about the communities they are a part of to better serve their students and families best interests?
I don't go on vacations I can't afford, or buy cars I can't afford.
If you can't afford this stuff, you can't afford it.
Opt out/decline the invitation if it's that much of a financial burden.
We usually know almost a year in advance the where, when, and cost of it. And, a lot of kids do opt out, but it is not always financial. Some kids decide to stay behind because the trip doesn't appeal, mom and dad don't like the idea (which was very true of the NOLA trip), college essays need to be submitted, and exams were right after Christmas break (that changes this school year, thank goodness!). Another local school did the Indy 500 parade, and lost a lot of juniors and seniors, because it fell in the middle of AP testing. If not enough kids sign on for the trip, it gets scrapped. Community has spoken. Maybe the year after next.

For years we would receive some ladies mail about 5 blocks away. Only thing common was the number in the rest. The street nor the her name were not similar. I'd just stick it in her mailbox when I went that way. One day after years of this occasional journey I finally met this sweet elderly woman.

I have been reading every thing that I can find out about wheelchairs. I could manage the $12 a day for one of those. Those ECV's make me nervous. They are way too expensive. You don't want me behind the controls of anything like that. There's a reason I never ride a bike, or drive a car.
Think long and hard about trying to do it in a wheelchair. The year we went after DH twisted his ankle, I finally realized how many ramps, inclines, etc. there are in that place. I couldn't have pushed him all day. And then, when we got off the monorail at MK. I guess I would just yell, Look out below! and hoped for the best. Whee!

I've heard thunder for hours. No rain.
Our storm finally showed up on Saturday, right after I got back from dropping DD and her friend off at one of the local pools. Had to turn right around. They let me on the pool deck to get them, and they didn't see it. I was proud that they both looked immediately to the west, but this one blew from the north. Really weird. Made it home just in time.

Good morning another glorious day for me. No kids and wonderful weather:) For all you humans stay inside in A/C and HYDRATE!

What a nice break for you. A nice way to chill a bit, get some things accomplished without being rattled or disrupted. Bonus some alone time before the Roadtrip.

My curiosity is peaked to learn how late you 'sleep-in' while on vacation. Then I want to see after week one how much your DH enjoys his sleep-in time after the long days he puts in. Going to be a great trip report I'm sure.

We only had to deal with a wheelchair once in WDW, my DD was maybe 70 pounds, she took a bad fall in the AKL because of those stupid legs that jet out on their beds. I was surprised too even though she was light the different muscles you use pushing them up the hills in Epcot and AK and the ramps. My DD was also in a wheelchair for a couple months a few years later with a weird break of bone in her foot. I learned Woodfield ramps are nasty.

I should have not been surprised though cause I pushed strollers up the ramps at the monorails. That wasn't fun. Worse when there was a queue on the monorail ramps and you had to stop and pause. My guess is this why the electric carts have become more popular.

Not us. We got caught in it. My DS wanted Cheesecake Factory for his Birthday meal. We all love this place. We could have gone to WoodField or Oakbrook and he picked WoodField. When we came out the skies had totally opened up. Water everywhere. We just waited it out. Too long of a drive drenched. Being a young gentleman when it slowed to rain he ran and got the car and picked us up curbside.

My foot feels a whole lot better today. I have stayed off of it a lot, since my last doctor's appointment on Friday. Not sure what the podiatrist will tell me, but I leave for his office in about an hour's time.

About the wheelchair at WDW. I only plan on using one in the parks. We are renting a car for the parks, and when we go to the MK, it will be the bus, because it takes you directly to the MK. No ferry or monorails for me, most likely this trip.

Although, I usually make it a point to visit the Grand Floridian at some point in my trip, just to rest. Although, I can take a boat over there. The ramps up to the monorail, are killers, with good feet.

I got a lot done today, for me:D Morning workout, walked 7 miles outside. Went to the post office and put in the card to have the mail stopped. Put the tablet on to charge and yes I plugged it in LOL.
Last trip I slept until somewhere around 6 most mornings, but was up close to 4:30 after our AK day. As for my dh he's checking into the condo and taking a nap on our 9am until 2am day. I'm going to let everybody sleep in the next day. That's a "rest day" for us, just some mini golf and water park time. The boys and I will most likely close BB that night, my dh will duck out for a nap.
