Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I have been reading every thing that I can find out about wheelchairs. I could manage the $12 a day for one of those. Those ECV's make me nervous. They are way too expensive. You don't want me behind the controls of anything like that. There's a reason I never ride a bike, or drive a car.

I admire your consideration for others and your own well being with ECVs. If you don't drive I'm guessing you live in Chicago proper?
Sure wouldn't work around here unless you were Ubering it daily.

Had a great visit with my DS. We went out to Cheesecake factory for his birthday tonight. Gosh did we all eat well. My Shrimp Cajun Jambalaya was awesome. As was the very nice glass of Reisling I had to wash it down. Best service too. To bad I had zip room for cheesecake. We also did not tell the staff it was his Birthday. It is an agreement we've held to for years and years. Not much into public displays.

Your DH has worked some long days and hours. It will be nice to spend some time with him. At least he can't get underfoot on the drive down there or in the parks.
The one nice thing about this trip is that the boys are old enough to go off together without us and I'm big enough to go off without any of them:hilarious: We have lots of things planned that we're doing as a family, some things for just my dh and myself and I have a few thing planned to do with one ds at a time.:)

My little guy is the exact opposite he'll be wearing his birthday button the whole trip. He reminded me yesterday his birthday is going to be spent in the car and he's not getting a party. I think he's trying to guilt me into an extra or 6:rolleyes: I have a few surprises in mind:)

We have 7 nights at Pop Century, and then 3 nights at Cabana Bay. I am as excited to see the Harry Potter stuff, as I usually am about the Disney part of my vacation. It will be my/our first Halloween Party as well. Then of course, I will also celebrate my 69th birthday.
We're really excited to see all the Potter stuff. Our first morning at least will be spent just walking and looking at everything no rides, just soaking it all in. I'm hoping not to go too broke in Diagon Alley!

Are your boys still willing to spend days at their grandparents homes? Mine hit about 8-9 and they were fine with visiting but wanted to go home at night from my Mom's. Before that I had to remind them they had a home here especially my son. My kids rarely went to my MIL house, never stayed the night. Her idea of entertainment was to take them to visit their elderly friends and relatives. They ground their heels in young that they'd only go to MILs if Dad went too. :joyfull:
My father in law has a man cave that he let's them in to watch movies so they don't grumble too much. The in laws could use a bit of help around the house and the boys could use a few extra dollars, so there's that and I need a break! This has been the most stressful trip to plan between no ROL, DHS hours coming out only 2 weeks ago and using fp+ for the first time. You're right my little guy could go there for a month and not miss us up until a few years ago and now 3 days seems to be his max and that seems to be pushing it.

Second teenage rebellion. That's too funny.

It's weird how grief is. I've been doing okay with my step grandfather's passing and then today it hit me and I could not STOP crying. I'm pretty sure I'm going to bed right after dinner because I'm just wiped.

My grandmother at least for now seems to have her head on straight. No talk of moving or selling the house, and she hasn't done anything beyond her abilities. We're still keeping a very close eye on her, though. She seems to be able to talk about his passing, though. Today she told us that after they got him to the hospital and gave him morphine for the pain, he went with a smile on his face. The man, even at his worst moments health-wise, always was smiling. The more I talk to her, the more I find out about him that I never knew. The increased contact with each other seems to be good for both of us.
Pixie dust and sweet dreams

Yay packing done! I just finished mine about an hour ago with some last minute stuff. We leave for Disneyland tomorrow afternoon. I hope you all have a great trip! I hope your drive goes smoothly and I can't wait to read your trip report!
Safe travels today and I can't wait for your TR either. I may not get to it until sometime in September with all I'll have to do when we get home. I most likely won't even try and ketchup here. I'm pretty sure I won't have wi fi except in the parks. SOG charges, the condo doesn't have any, not sure about the hotel by UNI and we really are just going to wing it on the ride home.

We were at a local water park (that I didn't even know existed :cyclops:) for most of the day volunteering for the pediatric cancer foundation that both DDs are on the board of, at their annual Splash Bash.
Again, no Schlitterbahn, but, not bad at all...! :)

I'm wiped out though, so, as quickly as I'm here, I'm gone... ;)
Y'all be cool and sweet dreams to all...!
Laterrrrrrrr...!!! :)
That a great reason to be wiped. Doing good and having fun:)
