Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
This takes me back years ago, when I received the "first" call from a neighbor . . . "Um, your mum's a little distracted . . . we found her roaming at the end of the street, and she told us she didn't know how to get home." And so it began . . . sympathy to you and your family, Gabe.

Thanks. I'm not really sure what is up with my Mom. We were seeing it long before my Dad got ill this winter. Sometimes I don't think she stops to think and other times I have found she greatly embellished stories. She has strangely become obsessed with everyone on the face of the earth life. Now gossip seems to be her go to conversations though I've even found those to be embellished. Other times I hear her retell stories that are flat out wrong and if you try and correct she gets angry. Still she balances her checkbook, pays her bills, takes care of herself and dresses nicely and eats just fine. I just need to give this a little time to See if she settles down and finds a more calm pattern to her daily routines and interests. Time will tell. My Sis on the other hand doesn't recognize any of this and believes I'm flat out wrong.

My little guy is the exact opposite he'll be wearing his birthday button the whole trip. He reminded me yesterday his birthday is going to be spent in the car and he's not getting a party. I think he's trying to guilt me into an extra or 6:rolleyes: I have a few surprises in mind:)

I've actually spent my Birthday in the World 2x in the last 5 years, and yes I was buttoned. I took it off after the bus driver noted my button and name. We had pulled out of Epcot and the driver made an announcement. Everyone it is Gabe's Birthday today. Lets celebrate by singing her Happy Birthday. They did. While a sweet gesture, happy birthday wish is very different than a whole bus load of peeps staring at you while they sing happy birthday.

Very funny about the wrinkles! But my thoughts exactly on the wallet part of it, and about him being ugly. I think he and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith are tied for ugliest rocker.
I think Mick wins by a land slide. Back in our dating days, they were playing a concert movie of Rolling Stones in the IMAX theater, and I didn't want to go. I would have nightmares for the rest of my life, being swallowed whole by Jagger.

Hahaaa...!
I know who your talkin' 'bout. ;)
Thanks, they're havin' a blast! :)

And, we now have 4 pups in our house 'til the end of the month when they come home.
Along with Belle and Ranger, we also now have Pumpkin and Pi, oldest DD and SonILs pups.
Here is a pic of them together, and then one of Pi...he kinda' resembles a pup version of Albert Einstein, thus the name...!!! :joyfull: :)

Agreed. Always a negative side to those that think negative. ;)
Many of the High School bands in our district have marched at Macy's and/or the Rose Parade over the years. Fundraisers.
When both of our DDs were in HS choir (that school has consistently been ranked near the middle of the top 100 High Scools in the nation over the years since before our kiddos all went to and graduated from there, and still is) we worked all those years at UT concessions to help raise the money for the year-end trips. The kids worked their behinds off right along with us aduIts. I don't remember any of those that volunteered rolling their eyes. Maybe, only the ones that didn't participate in the fundraising. You can roll your eyes, or get off your butt. 'Cause, you're right, the students are more than honored, as well they should be, and the parents, IMO, should be more than willing to help that dream come true for all their kiddos hard work. Why would you encourage them, supply the money to rent/buy musical instruments for them, pay for extra lessons etc., and then get all negative about a dream of their, granted, relatively short, lifetime coming true...?!?!?!?!
Seems to me, If your going to encourage and push them, a good parent should be prepared for the "consequences" that could likely follow. ;)
Our HS marching band does a big trip every other year. DS was lucky enough to march at WDW and the Outback bowl one year, and this past New Year's was New Orleans and the Sugar Bowl. This was the first time there was a Sugar Bowl parade, so that is pretty special. Next trip, DD will be going. I am really hoping for Disney!

There have been at least two accidents with fatalities in our area that were related to playing Pokemon Go.

I'm not playing Pokemon Go myself (I don't live in an area where playing is ideal), but I don't have a problem with people playing it responsibly. Hey, who I am to judge given the amount of time I've spent playing that Disney Magic Kingdoms game on my cell phone? The problem is the people playing irresponsibly, such as playing while driving or going places where they should not go to catch a Pokemon
This is me and DS. I like the Disney MK game a little too much!

It has been fun watching all these people over the last week out and about, phone in hand wandering around. The weather has been warm but nice enough. I'm am a regular walker so I have noticed just how many more people are out and moving around. I like seeing the kids and their parents out hunting together. Funnier to see those my age wandering around solo.

I've never enjoyed any type of gaming but this has me smiling watching all the people about trying to attain whatever it is they are trying to accomplish. I watched this once before when I had friends feeding their Farms which I could not wrap my brain around either. Still this one seems unique to me as it has people up and moving. It gives me and Walt something to observe and dodge.
a few evenings ago, we took DD to our town square which is a hot spot. I was very amused to see about a dozen young adults marching in a line, one behind the other, on the hunt. The older folk try to hide it, but DD and I just have a good giggle.

My friends are super excited to buy themselves wands. I'm not so much in buying stuff/souvenirs. However, I'm likely to come home with hundreds of photos just from the Harry Potter areas of the park. I take pics of everything.

Speaking of Harry Potter. I didn't really enjoy the new trailer for the next movie but then again I haven't liked a Harry Potter movie since number 3. Plus Colin Farrell can run away and never come back.

I also can officially say that I like Marvel movies way better than DC movies. Not one DC movie interests me.

Not been a fan of the dc ones so far ( the tv series are very good though) . However am eagerly awaiting Suicide Squad and the rumoured Aflleck Batman film.
