I hope you are starting to feel some peace. :inlove:

Thank you. Actually I have not had much time to dwell on it and I think I pretty well came to terms with it all from February till March and that was no way to live without any quality of life.

Besides my Mom is a great distraction now, a sideshow unto herself lately. I love calls from her neighbors...do you know what I just stopped your Mother from doing now???? 81 years old and in her second teenhood rebellious stage.

Oh, I hope you can get through that. Is there a teenager that would like to make a few bucks and do it for you? We don't have any teenagers in our neighborhood, mostly young kids. Take several breaks if you decide to do this. Stay safe.

I wacked the weeds with the weed wacker, and edged around the grass. Perhaps tomorrow I will pull out my mulching mower, and mow. That depends on how much rain we get. It is starting to rain now, as I type this.

Hope it heals up quickly now that you know what it is. If all else fails you can rent one of these.

Much cheaper if you rent from an outside source and have it delivered to your resort. Still hoping you recover by then though.

I have been reading every thing that I can find out about wheelchairs. I could manage the $12 a day for one of those. Those ECV's make me nervous. They are way too expensive. You don't want me behind the controls of anything like that. There's a reason I never ride a bike, or drive a car.

Second teenage rebellion. That's too funny.

It's weird how grief is. I've been doing okay with my step grandfather's passing and then today it hit me and I could not STOP crying. I'm pretty sure I'm going to bed right after dinner because I'm just wiped.

My grandmother at least for now seems to have her head on straight. No talk of moving or selling the house, and she hasn't done anything beyond her abilities. We're still keeping a very close eye on her, though. She seems to be able to talk about his passing, though. Today she told us that after they got him to the hospital and gave him morphine for the pain, he went with a smile on his face. The man, even at his worst moments health-wise, always was smiling. The more I talk to her, the more I find out about him that I never knew. The increased contact with each other seems to be good for both of us.

Spent most of the day at a friend's wedding today. My husband performed the ceremony. I felt bad for my friend though she had planned on about 3/4 of the day being outside and it rained almost the whole day. Things worked out though and the ceremony was lovely (an not just because my husband did the wedding ceremony) and the food was actually good too! Being at weddings always makes me nostalgic for my wedding day and makes me think of crazy things my friends and I did at weddings in our early 20's. Ahhhhh, good times.;):)

We were at a local water park (that I didn't even know existed :cyclops:) for most of the day volunteering for the pediatric cancer foundation that both DDs are on the board of, at their annual Splash Bash.
Again, no Schlitterbahn, but, not bad at all...! :)

I'm wiped out though, so, as quickly as I'm here, I'm gone... ;)
Y'all be cool and sweet dreams to all...!
Laterrrrrrrr...!!! :)

:inlove:when her time comes....she will go...no matter the circumstances. We have always lived this way, when your time comes you will go no matter what. That's why we flew right after 9 11. If it wasn't our time, nothing would happen. I'm still here, so no hit , no foul!
I'm actually one of these that says to lady Dead straight on "Not today.. not today".

When I ruptured one of my discs I went to get out of bed and collapsed on the floor. I couldn't walk. Hubby took me to the emergency room, and an anestheologist gave me a Cortizone shot in my back. I was up and walking three days later. My Dr. says you can only have 3 of these shots in your life. I protect my back, like it's sacred!
Why only 3? does it clog your arteries or increases the calcium?

Is Uni before or after your Disney portion of your trip? I've heard nice things about the Cabana's, I've only stayed at the Portifino which is very lovely.

If you need a break from the parks I suggest a boat ride to Portofino AT NIGHT and with a glass of something special walk the bay or sit at one of the waterfront tables and do some people watching there. It is beyond charming.
can you do it even if you're not staying at Porto Fino?

In other news.. gran was at it again.
She insisted in preparing her tea.
Problem? she leaves the fire on and she might fall asleep or forget while watching Tv. (thats how she set a small fire months ago in her home).
I told her NO, that I would do it. She then complained that I should have let the herbs boil 20 more minutes to get the "juices" out.. :|
Then was angry that I wouldnt let her set the herbs on water and boil it again.
Then I went upstairs for my nap after prepared for my sister to arrive.
My sister did not come at the time I expected.
Anyway, When I woke up and I was ready to go to a party (that my sister was supposed to skip so she could check on gran) and went downstairs.. surprise.. someone had boiled ANOTHER ROW of tea.. and sure as hell it wasn't my sister. :banghead:

Then I get the surprise that my sister was only going to be there 20 minutes because "she decided to go to the cinema" wee sis.. how helpful of you!
anyway, after 3 hours.. I received a message that "just got out of the cinema" WHAT THE HELL. WHO IS LOOKING FOR GRAN THEN?
thankfully my sis insisted my gran was fine when she returned. Still not amused.
Got back from the family reunion.. and guess what.. found yet ANOTHER attempt at boiling herbs.. :/
I cant wait for my mother to return home.. x_x

Yes. Just like Disney Resorts you can visit and dine. A stroll around their quiet pool is the most amazing place. So tranquil. Their main pool is cool but busy like other main pools at Disney. But Portofino at night is beyond beautiful. The boat from the park/city walk hub drops you in the heart of Portofino. That is where my rooms have been too. Blessed by sure luck.

Awe, that is sweet that you and grandma are bonding this way.

And yes my mom reverting to her teen years rebelling is hysterical. I have to find it funny or I'm going to crack up. :banghead:

Oh dear. Elderly and cooking=disaster often. My Dad would nap through cooking. Was glad when he went to microwaving things. Though he'd brew coffee, not as dangerous as boiling tea at 3 am though 'cause he couldn't sleep. Yep, cause caffeine makes ya sleep. My Mom has been ordering out frequently. Blessing. She likely is better off cause her food doesn't bring great reviews. Getting worse with age.

I am baffled by your Sis but my Sis is due in next weekend. Yet when she is in she makes plans with friends, goes for long walks etc she is gone more than she is there. My niece is left with my Mom. Thank goodness for iPhones and laptops for her.

When does your Mom return?
