Sadly, that's the end of the snow for today - it just switched over to freezing rain.
Hate that stuff. :banghead:

I think my area is getting 3-4 inches overnight. Tomorrow morning, it's supposed to rain and the temperature is supposed to rise. However, if the temperatures fall, it may switch to freezing rain, just the same as in your area. Love snow; hate ice.

Interestingly enough, yesterday morning there was an unexpected snow squall up on 93 in N. H., just a couple of miles south of the Whites. Within minutes, the highway turned into a skating rink and there was a 35-car pile-up. Once the weather cleared, the film crews arrived and the pictures looked like a demolition derby took place up there! Twelve people were injured; thank goodness, most of them had minor injuries. The N.H. State Police shut down 93 North, in that area, for hours yesterday.

Every time a Harry Potter movie is on TV I cannot help but watching it. And this is coming from the person who has never read the books and who has never been to UNI (nor have any future plans to at the moment).

I'm probably the only person in the universe who has not read the books, nor ever seen even one of those films!! It's not that I don't want to, it's just that when they're on TV, I don't notice they're on, until the movie is already underway for about 45 minutes. Eventually, I'll probably get to see one of them -- before I die, I assume. :hilarious:

I like all kinds of food; not every dish, per se, but I love the fusion of different flavors from around the globe. :hungry:

Indian food is very tasty; I just make sure I don't get anything that's hot and spicy, but the milder curry dishes are delicious! I love Chinese food, and also Thai: shrimp and chicken pad thai is one of my favorite meals at a restaurant. Can't remember the exact name of most ethnic dishes I've enjoyed, but usually, I'm never disappointed trying new ones as well.

The reality is that, (similar to @Wrangler-Rick 's horses, I guess you could say . . . ;)), once I put on that feed bag, I just start chowing down the food and enter a world of bliss! :D :joyfull:

Yep, sure it's a big surprise comin' from me  ;), but, I love all those foods, and then some...! :hungry: :)

One of my brothers lives in the barbecue capitol of N.C. He loves the weather down there; it's not too hot, not too cold. (He never was a fan of the snow and cold like I am.) I told him that for an ex-Marine, he's a wuss! :joyfull:
He maybe a wuss as I may be a wuss. Don't care I am not spending six months of the year wearing enough clothing for an arctic expedition.:) I wore shorts and a T-shirt on Christmas this year. Loved every single minute of it.:inlove: In this short period of time I have grown to hate long pants. I have a pair of winter boots that I am thinking about making into planters. My electricity bill stays the same year round and I heat with it down here. Used to spend $2K or more a season just to keep my butt from freezing. I'm glad you love the cold, somebody has too. It's just never going to be me. :joyfull:

I'm glad you found a place that you don't have to wear hardly any clothes, so that you can save money. :jawdrop: :p Maybe my brother isn't a wuss after all; perhaps he's just frugal. :joyfull:

Commercials are horrible here. Especially during sporting games.

A football (soccer game) is 90 minutes but only a few commercials so therefore only an hour and a half long. I don't know about the MLS, I have never watched a game. Ironically, a hockey game (60 minutes) and an American football game (60 minutes) are both shorter but with commercials are hours long.

A Sherlock episode on PBS (no commercials) is about an hour fifteen minutes. On BBC America, it was two hours. Worst is when they cut the episode so they can show more commercials and apparently Americans are too dumb to have a show end in the middle of the hour.
Soccer usually as a big period full of ADS during halftime.
also they display ADS all the time in the pitch.
but yeah, sometimes when a "new movie" (aka one that was out in bluray 3 years ago) hits local TV, they do around 1 hour of ads (15 mins of ads) for every 20 mins of movie.
worse when its nearing the climax of the movie.

I've never read one word of any of the books, either. Only saw 2 of the movies in the theater, years ago, 'cause the kiddos wanted to see 'em. Slept through most of both. :cautious:
I figured I'd give the movies a second chance by watching them on TV. I lose interest a short way in, every time.
Same with TLotR books and movies. Although, I've never even seen any of those movies.
Different strokes for different folks. :)

then better be going.. get the books! they start slow, but after book #2 it starts to get really good .
I think the best books are #3, 4 and 5.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I've read the first 6 books. Absolutely could not get into the final one.
Have never seen a single movie.

As for LOTR/Hobbit - never read the books, haven't seen the movies. Any of them.

Hahaaa...!
Yep, it's been in the low 40's to mid 30's and rainy here the last few days, and, even on the visit to mom and pops on New Year's Day, I've still been out in only a t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. If there was no rain, it woulda' still been flip flops. ;)
Although, come to think of it o_O, I actually did make a quick beer run in the rain in flip flops, last night. :D
The sun finally came out this mornin', and it's 63 and clear as a bell, right now. Back to full-time flip flops...!!! :joyfull: :)

Flip floppies are fun, but it's too bad that you miss out on picking out your mitties, scarf, and knit hat each morning. You should see my collection! :joyfull: I have many different colors, as well as some prints and plaids. I have a few different winter coats and jackets, too, just to make life interesting. "Dressing up" for the cold is my fashion statement! ;)

still no snow for us....just wimpy dustings. 60 degrees for tomorrow....crazy. Even 70s is a heat wave for us, Floridians will be winter coats.

We started with snow went to ice then rain which made slush. Next up ice and more snow. Not much just enough to make it very slick.
