Thank you. We had a great deal of lightning, wind and more rain in a very short span of time that I recall in many years. It is messy around here but we were spared tornadoes. Amen. Our ground was petty dry because of little rain in the last week and highs in the 90s so while it is squishy I do not have as much standing water that I usually do after a storm like this. I'm interested to hear how @MouseDreaming did as the winds were even stronger through that area. I should call my Mom and see how she weathered it all too but I'm thinking if something went wayward I'd have already heard from her or my Sis.
The wind got scary. We have a picture window that faces north, and I have never seen the old tree across the street bow down to it. And the smaller trees were bending sideways. I was watching all of this, and trying not to freak out. DH was chatting with his mom on the phone, with his back to the window, and wouldn't turn around. Missed the whole show, but figured I was freaking out because the rain was falling fast and heavy.

I'm glad you are safe. I love to watch storms.

Oh Dear. Glad she got home safe. What a nice parent but driving through that is nasty. My DD made it back to her place maybe 15 minutes before all heck broke loose.

The news didn't say the venue just Palatine IL. I was looking at the photo and the people wading with a lamppost buried in water. What the heck people?
Wow, I thought for sure that was the river overflowing, again. Well, I am happy to report, the new "river" in front of house is dried up. I haven't looked at the side of the house to see if our personal river rapids is flowing. It is very cloudy, very quiet. Hoping we are done with this. Although, they are saying next big ones will hit Sunday.

I hope that's not true!

Not to be picky, but I think you should have posted that picture 3 times. As @Cesar R M always says, it's:

NOPE, NOPE, and NOPE!! :D

Hahaaa...!
I believe this gif is one of his favorites...! :)

I read that part of it was that they had had to close the ride down for much of the morning. The lines are expected to be a bit shorter in the next couple of weeks. I sure hope so!! Even with FP+ I can't imagine how long the wait time would be if standby is 300 minutes!

I read the same.
I just can't imagine seeing that sign, assuming it's accurate, and then just deciding to hop in a 5 hour line...! :cyclops:
