Families are tough. But sometimes made more tolerable with alcohol.

The fact that I am of legal drinking age probably will give me much more tolerance for many relatives on my mom's side of the family. I pretty much like, or at least tolerate, my dad's side. Last time my mom and I were around her relatives, we both came home and had a glass of wine.

Of course, my uncle called today in part to tell my mom that their dad enjoys his alcohol a little too much and a little too often..ugh. Family drama

Ah families...can't live with 'em, can't murder them. I get along with my mom's and my dad's side of the family...and for the most part, both sides of my husband's family. There are always exceptions though. Hope your grandfather is ok!

It looks like we have a place to stay back home. Whew...what a relief. I'm keeping the hotel reservation for a bit though, just in case. We still have to cut that part of the trip short because the people are going to trinidad on the 20th, but that's ok...at least it's free, and hey, more time with our friends in Cheyenne. Silver lining, right? 34 Days until Disney!!!

General fyi: Just saw on the early AM news about a frozen food recall for a number of brands. Story is below with a link to the gov't. site that lists the various brands, dates, and plant #'s, etc. Some items are sold at Target and Walmart as well.

@Gabe1 , it completely passed by me that you also had to deal with Father's Day this past weekend. Talk about bad timing. I hope all this stress dissipates soon for you, so that you can get back to some normalcy and peace.

You're welcome. Although I assume you're probably the least likely to purchase frozen veggies--I know you buy fresh veggies all the time. But I thought I'd put the alert out there, just in case anyone here might have bought any of those brands. It's so strange to think that listeria could be in frozen vegetables. What next?!

You're welcome. Although I assume you're probably the least likely to purchase frozen veggies--I know you buy fresh veggies all the time. I like fresh better but I did have a bag of peas that just got tossed. I do keep peas, spinach and kale in the freezer. That way I always have some

Thanks! We are at the airport, security was a breeze and now we are getting a light breakfast snack and coffee for me. We don't want to eat too much as we will have a full meal on the plane. Hubby is thrilled at the first class upgrade!
