That is actually interesting, Because technically domino's is the second worst in my country.
I have two objections to todays pizza. The biggest is that the sauce no longer has the taste that was unique to pizza when I was a kid. I'm not sure what is used today, but, I'm guessing that it is just marinara sauce almost identical to what is used with pasta. I can still taste the old sauce and I truly miss it. The second is the size. A medium pizza is now the same size as what used to be a small pizza... same with large, now medium sized.

I don't care for the pizza with just sliced tomatoes and here and there a blob of cheese. They may be the in thing, but, to me, that's not pizza. That is a rock hard crusty thing, with a couple of designer veggies thrown about. It isn't even appetizing to look at, in my opinion.

I have taken to just buying a frozen Digiorno with stuffed crust. I get it home add more mozzerela, pop it in the oven for 20 minutes (I use a pizza pan and do not think that draping it on the oven grills to be a fun clean-up). I can add what I want and it cost me around $8.00. Being on my own it is good for two meals because it microwaves perfectly to warm up. I like the taste, I like the fact that the wait time is less then delivery time, there is almost zero work involved unless opening a box, putting it on the pan and sliding it into the oven is considered work. Oh yea, and I don't have to tip the delivery person after paying more for delivery to begin with.

There's a pizza place not too far from me that has excellent sauce! They even have a gf crust and df cheese for people with allergies. Move to Joisey if you want good pizza:D

I just checked us in for our flight. We leave tomorrow morning, and since we are leaving on my husband's birthday (his 40th) I decided to surprise him by upgrading us both to first class (just on the way down). So I needed to be on the airlines website right away in order to have first dibs on the upgrade. There were only 2 seats left in first class, we won't be able to sit next to each other, but he is in the row behind me. I haven't decided if I'm going to tell him today or wait until tomorrow. Ok, enough fooling around, I have to finish packing!!!!!!!!:joyfull:
Have a great trip, and enjoy your anniversary.

I can't say I wasn't excited to leave either. What 20-something young adult isn't? I have nothing but fond memories of growing up in my hometown but it was certainly out of my price range when I left home back then. But it is a charming town and the commercial area has changed little since I was small, the buildings are still there from the '20s - 40's, the theater is intact from the 20's. The businesses have changed over the years however the area is very much the same in the Uptown area (downtown was considered loop of Chicago.)

Over the years I normally zip through the fastest way to my folks home and out again. This week being there soooo much that I wish I could just put the car on autopilot I've had some time to look around. I think I've now finished all I have to do for my Dad's services this upcoming weekend and my Sis and family should have all arrived by Friday so thinking life MIGHT get back to somewhat normal after that.
I hope this for you and the family.

Hmm...it will be morning but I'd like two glasses of wine too to pull me through the visitation portion of my Dads services. There is a mental list of people to try and side-step. I told my Mom to skip the open bar at the wake/meal portion of the day, I told her I'd just go out of our room and visit the bar lol. :cyclops:
Nothing wrong with that plan. My thoughts will be with you.
