I'm sure my mom will be that way with my brother as he gets older. None of my friends believe me when I tell them she's 50; she really doesn't look it. My dad doesn't look 56 either, nor can you really tell that they're 6 years apart in age.

But since she was 35 when my brother was born, it was considered a "geriatric" pregnancy. Medical term, not my term.

My mom has told me for a long time that she's okay being an old grandmother. I'm not sure I want kids, but if she gets grandkids, she'll be old...er. :joyfull:
My mom (74) has eight grandkids and five great grandkids so far. My ex-mom-in-law was 56 when she became a great grandma.

So, we're going to DL next week...

But it looks like I'll be going again before my annual pass will expire! I was going to ask my best friend if she wanted to go, but right when I was about to talk to her about it, she lost her job.:( She's going on a couple of interviews, and I don't think she'll have any trouble getting another job, but of course I'm not going to ask someone who just lost their job, "Hey, do you want to go on vacation?" When I get back from my trip, I am still going to ask her, but realizing that she might have to say no.

BUT, I talked to the mom of the friend I took to WDW several years ago, and she said they could definitely do it financially (her mom will help her out with the expenses), so if my other friend says no, she will most likely say yes! We'll just have to go when she's off school, which would be early January.

So...DISNEYLAND!!! There I shall go, and there I shall return. :D

Sounds great. We are leaving for WDW in two days, but we are planning to head to Disneyland for another visit in July before our annual pass expires too.

Went to a baby shower today. A person who I don't like was there (we have a history from when we were in high school that we unfortunately haven't moved passed). After two glasses of wine, I gave her a great big smile and a hello, and she looked like she didn't know what to do about it. I thought to myself...

It seems silly to not use the AP for more than just one trip. Especially because between the settlement money on the car accident and my commissions on this new job, I can definitely afford to go (I'm footing the hotel bill since I don't have to buy a pass).

you'd be surprised.
Some people who got depressed when they got fired.. go to amusement parks or vacations to cool down before going to job hunting.
keeps them fresh and not depressive (or angry) for losing their jobs.

I have a free Amazon Prime trial right now and have come to a very important conclusion:

Netflix>Amazon Prime
Amazon has a very short line of offerings for videos and series compared to netflix.
But what annoys me is.. Amazon Prime videos is blocked for me as a Mexican. No idea why.
We have netflix and many other similar offers, yet no amazon prime.

Happy farm market Saturday. We got a new suitcase (one was well past it's prime) and some other items for our trip yesterday. It feels both very close and yet so far away:hilarious:

I was at my Mom's again today and sent my DD a text saying I missed the market week #3. Totally forgot. I drove within 2 blocks of it starting out to my Mom's. Doh.

Something about returning to your hometown where you grew up and lived your entire childhood. Like you never left.

Do you mean the one with Hayley Mills? I loved that movie!!! (Haven't seen it in ages, but have seen it multiple times.)

I'm with you and @ajrwdwgirl
My favorite Disney Movie is the Original Parent Trap. I saw it for the first time when I was small in our town theater and likely it was a 'brought back' movie then. I love the movie still and watch it frequently enough. I think it was the adventure of the 'girls' that was the draw for me when I was young. I had the same love of the Original Children's novel The Boxcar Children. I couldn't wait to read that book to my kids when they were young. Sadly at the time I don't think it had the same draw for them.

I don't think the fences (wooden post and rope ) are to keep the gators out but more to keep the people in. They may not be the final solution but something had to be done straight away.

Yeah. I'm sure they have consultants out the wazoo right now dealing with gator control imagineering. I can't believe fences and walls around the Bay is the atmosphere they are going for as they build the new DVC at the Wilderness Lodge and how do you have guests walking up in dim light at night to the units butted up against the bay and believe a sign will suffice?

I just wonder since they stopped allowing guests to go into the lakes and posted the no swimming signs Disney just became indifferent about the gators multiplying in the lakes?

Oh, how I'd love to play devil's advocate, and sneak in some candy bars for the boys in their carry-on bags.

Mother: "Boys, how are you enjoying your healthy salads?"

Boys: "Oh, they're healthful and nutritious, mother." (Boys secretly munching Hershey bars in the back . . .) :hilarious:
My younger ds can't have dairy so no Hershey for him. They will have some chips, salsa and gucamole for the ride along with sandwiches, salad and something hot for lunch. BTW they like salads:joyfull:
