Early evening last night there were 4 military jets that flew overhead. First 2 and and about 5 minutes later 2 more. Dang those puppies are loud. She lives about 7 miles from Ohare, I am accustomed to noise but wooba those actually made me look up where airplanes overhead just go unnoticed.
A friend of ours lives down the street from Mc Guire AFB. It's a good thing he's a plane fanatic:joyfull:

I was at my Mom's again today and sent my DD a text saying I missed the market week #3. Totally forgot. I drove within 2 blocks of it starting out to my Mom's. Doh.

Something about returning to your hometown where you grew up and lived your entire childhood. Like you never left.

Glad your hometown is still the way you remembered it, and makes you happy. (I didn't care for where I grew up and was happy to leave!! Different strokes, I guess. ;) :p )

Minorly freaking out. I asked some friends a year ago if we could stay with them when we visit my dad this summer. We've stayed with them the last 2 trips. They said no problem. I let them know when we were looking at coming, they said it sounded fine, but to let them know when we had firm dates. So once we booked flights, we gave them the info and never heard back. Then a month ago, I reminded them of the dates and said I needed to confirm so I could make other arrangements if it wasn't going to work out. Didn't hear anything for 3 weeks, then they said, sorry, they'd been out of town, they needed to check the dates and get back to us....then this morning we get a message that it's not going to work out. 3 weeks before we're there. I have 3 weeks to find somewhere else to stay. I did find a hotel room for $45 a night on weekdays, but Friday nights cost $105. I'd rather not spend any money on a hotel as we didn't budget for that, thinking we'd be staying with friends. Looks like our itinerary is going to change!
Sympathy like. What leg of the trip is getting messed up?

Is it still possibly Edy's?

Others throughout the forums have mentioned/suggested Edy's as well, but I'm not sure if it's been substantiated yet. Big mystery . . . :cautious:

Again, whatever brand it is, I've always really liked the ice cream there. I think part of it has to do with the old ice cream parlor atmosphere and the fact that FL is so hot--anything icy will do the job for me!!!

So did anyone else watch the opening special for Shanghai Disneyland that ran a n one of the Disney Chanel? I was really disappointed in the special, I wanted to see them show parts of the park, maybe some behind the scenes, a little timeline of construction or something but they didn't do that at all. :(
Carp. We dvr'd it and planned on watching that and finally watching Zootopia today. We're going nowhere and taking it easy today!!!!!!!

No, Betty, you don't need to leave. The thread being depressing has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the fact that it's just been an absolutely horrible week for individual members and for this country in general.
^^^^This and that's what this thread is for sometimes. Helping each other get over the rough patches in life. We're like a family with good and bad times and some dysfunction. Looking at you @Mr Ferret 88 :D

My favorite Disney Movie is the Original Parent Trap. I saw it for the first time when I was small in our town theater and likely it was a 'brought back' movie then. I love the movie still and watch it frequently enough. I think it was the adventure of the 'girls' that was the draw for me when I was young. I had the same love of the Original Children's novel The Boxcar Children. I couldn't wait to read that book to my kids when they were young. Sadly at the time I don't think it had the same draw for them.

The Parent Trap is the featured movie on the upcoming Disney vault on tcm which is on June 28. Fun fact, that is my birthday, so I think they are showing as a present to me (but I'll be in Disney).

I also like the boxcar children book. I thought it would be cool to live in a boxcar. I didn't care much for the other books in the series but the first book was great.

Well it isn't very long so you could skim through the it before Zootopia. I also plan to watch Zootopia today too.
I wish I have some cleaning to do and lanyards to make. My dh isn't a big fan of the pool and today is his day to plan. I'll live, tomorrow will be beautiful and I'll be swimming away:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm surprised he agreed to the WP tickets, maybe he'll just play a lot of putt putt while the boys and I get wet:hilarious:

I actually know where that is! A long time ago I dated someone from Niles and we used to meander over there to hang out and also grab deep dish pizza from the place a little northwest from there! ;)

I think the horrible week has gotten to me. I have woke up everynight, except last night, I slept through. I haven't been able to get Lane Graves picture out of my head. I'm doing much better today, having gotten a full night's sleep.
