It never seemed to be an option for the family. My father grew up on a farm and was needed there, not to mention the fact that he hated school. My mother was a female and having an education was deemed unnecessary at the time. One was born in 1921 and the other in 1918. I was the second oldest of the generation and the oldest was the son of a miner and made his way through life with his fists. Lived to be a ripe old 45 years old. So I was the first to be in a generation that was actually expected to finish high school, at least. College was still not considered a necessity at the time. I graduated from HS in 1966. Just about the time when things started to change around. Somewhat influenced by the Vietnam War and the possible college deferment afforded to students. That's not why I went, however, and I ended up as a participant in that lovely encounter anyway.
I graduated in 66 also, even though I'm a few month's older than you!;)

I have since the parks went to passes purchased park hopper passes, even when the parks were at their best.

Yep, the only trips we've ever done without hoppers was in '88 on our honeymoon, and this last Princess 5K trip in Feb.
There were only 2 Parks in '88, plus they didn't offer them (that I remember), and we only had 2 Park days in Feb. (MK, Epcot), so we didn't opt for them.
But, on all other trips we've opted for them. We like the flexibility factor, and have been known to visit all 4 parks in the same day. :)

Yes, I hate snow in April and May. It always snows on my birthday, May 3. We can't think about putting out anything until the last of May. I gave up gardening years ago, and put in rocks. You can't fool mother nature, ;)
Small thing, but, my Dad's birthday was May 3rd.
You were born a little less then 3 months before I was. Man you're old. Glad I'm younger because... well, I don't remember why, but, I know I'm glad! ;)

We are over 24 inches, right now, we have spent most of the day trying to knock the snow off our trees, and keep one side of the drive way clear. Not easy, as we are having high winds too. This is "normal" for Denver and higher areas, we are way above Denver, and get way more snow then they do. The winds are still roaring right now, and we hope to get out before dark to do more snow removable before dark. It's going to snow all night and tomorrow. We will certainly make at least 3 feet. Unless it stops right now, but we are still watching for downed trees. Our power has been in and out all day. The joy's of spring in Colorado. Our daughter just e-mailed, and asked if we needed anything. Hubby and I have been out all day. Hoping his stone will pass. And yet nothing. It must have stuck on the wall somewhere. These sticky stones are the pits. I don't know if anyone remembers the game where you had two round paddles with velcro, and two balls with velcro. You had to catch the ball covered with velcro. I think hubby's stone has become one of those balls!:D:p:oops::rolleyes::in pain:

Yuck to the snow, it is still possible for s to get another dousing too. At least you are getting some good exercise with the snow removal. Too bad the stone seems stuck, I kind of giggled at your analogy though. If I had been reading quicker it might have seemed like you were talking about something else! :jawdrop::oops:;)

I've done that too. Why do they stay in business?

Somebody must like those shirts for them to stay in business.

I'll join you! It's 75 and I'm enjoying short and a tank top sans the flip flops.

We had a cool breeze though so I stayed in ate shirt and stretchy capris. No flip flops yet either, with the breezy my toes stayed in socks. It as perfect weather for a long walk though. I enjoyed a refreshing seltzer water after the walk, cool, bubbly, and no sugar or calories!

Y'all are warmer than us. 74 and overcast here right now, with an 80% chance of rain. Was 80 here yesterday.

We had a couple periods of clouds but I think got to 79 today, it is supposed to cool down to mid-60's soon. But that is better than snow. It was also a perfect day for smoking meats...hubby smoked a pork butt today. In fact it is still not ready, and it smells so good (I'm so hungry). I'll have to post some pictures of it for you to see if it gets a Texas stamp of approval.

We like the flexibility of the hoppers too. We are doing a Disney cruise over thanksgiving and will be at WDW for two days before it and we aren't getting hoppers. It didn't seem worth the money, we might have to change it. We will see, that seems far away right now.

Congrats on the cruise!
Yea, that's why we didn't do it...with only 2 Park days it just didn't make sense to us.

And, it'll be here before you know it...! ;) :)
