I spent the day at my folks. Plumbing issues. My Dad wont fess up to what he attempted to do. I brought my friend, a plumber with. Then he left after calling a special rotting plumber. Now that that has been resolved he still has to go back and fix the other damage my 87 year old dad caused. I saw a stream of water floating down the middle of a room on Thanksgiving night. Not good. They so need to move into a condo or a retirement village. They're gone'a kill me yet.

Big sympathy like. Is there any chance of them relocating?

Good afternoon, everyone! Day off for me. Getting lots of housework and meal planning done. My mother is visiting on Friday for a few days, which always makes me nervous. I'm not much for house guests. But it will be nice to see her. We have some fun things planned. Got one sick kid home today and I feel so badly for him. He's as sick as a dog.
Sympathy like for your baby.

Day 13 of the Adventure.... November 1, (Sunday).. Port of Call - Livorno, Italy

Today's activity in includes Pisa, Florence and a Wine tasting in the Tuscany Region.

It started out a little rocky. It seems that the tour company had a bit of a problem in that the scheduled driver didn't show up. We ultimately left the ship about 35 minutes later then originally scheduled. I, having been in transportation for years, was not overly concerned about this, but, some of the "seasoned" cruisers were embarrassingly vocal and angry about this. I suppose I should be glad because it ultimately saved us around $30.00 because of it, but, I hate that kind of confrontation and loud mouth blaming people that had no power over that particular situation. Eventually it all calmed down and we were on our way. First stop... Pisa and the leaning tower within...

After a brief visit it was off to Florence, Italy...

Then to something that was a surprise to me. It was a Wine Tasting/Luncheon at a small family vineyard in the Tuscany region. I have already confessed that my knowledge of wine is limited to the Boone's Farm label, but, I was asked to "rate" a number of wines that were made there at the vineyard. I nodded my head a lot, like I knew something, but, I'm sure they saw right past my faux wine literacy. Still it was a good meal and some outstanding scenery that surrounded and made up the vineyard. I was far more enamored by that then the spirits.

Years ago, I had to live with ex after we broke up............... for I think 6 months or so, because affordable apartments are so few and far between in NYC.

That was a lot of fun, especially when he decided it was fine for him to bring his one night stands home on a pretty regular basis.

I was devastated at the time, but in retrospect, so lucky to have gotten out of that situation.

Plus, he hated Disney. And at least Phil tolerates it. Slightly.
Phil seems like a keeper.

I have no idea what his plan is. With my mom's help we were going to offer a pretty large payout just to get the divorce done quickly but his attitude didn't change plus he demanded Right of First Refusal which is if the custodial parent is unavailable to care for the child, the other parent gets first opportunity to care for the child. He wanted the time limit to be 3 hours which is ridiculous and most judges would make it overnight. He also balked at the child support stipulation we added that said if either parent decided to go to court for child support that parent would be responsible for the other's attorney fees. The fact that it's a problem for him indicates he was going to take our money and turn right around to take me to court for child support. So a payout is no longer on the table.

My lawyer wants him out as much as I do, so we served him with a 60-day eviction notice last week. If he's not out by then we obtain an unlawful detainer and then the sheriff will make him move out. Hopefully he'll get smart and leave voluntarily, though.
Here's to a happy Valentine's day celebration for you and your dd.

Sympathy like. Do you have any retirement villages by you? Some of them are really nice and have recreation. My mom's building even does bus trips to AC.

When my BIL and SIL returned from their Honeymoon years ago, my MIL on cloud nine still had a present for her new daughter in law. She a pre-bought her a maternity blouse. I was there as the new bride unwrapped the present. What can one say to that? She made MIL wait a good long while, they had their first kid 6 years later. :joyfull:
Wow...that's...wow. I mean, my in-laws wanted grandkids in the worst way, but they didn't go THAT far! Had they given any indication that they wanted to have kids right away that maybe that was her way of supporting them?

Just popping in. I still have one more week of the busies, so I am going to try to go through just a couple of pages here every day until I have time to do a proper "ketchup". I managed to re-injure my hip at work on Monday, but I'm thankfully not scheduled to work again until next Friday, and most of the stuff on my "to do" list at the moment at least does not require much (if any) walking. I have children's choir rehearsal to direct this afternoon, and I've decided not to go to the 50th birthday party for one of my choir cohorts because it will likely be standing room only, which I can't do at the moment. I'm trying not to catch DD's throat infection...she had a 103.4 temp Monday morning, but antibiotics have helped enormously and she no longer has a fever and swallowing isn't excruciating for her. Hope everyone here is healthy and happy and ready for Christmas! I'll read a couple of pages here and then get on with laundry (I did 4 loads yesterday, and yet somehow today, I'm still running behind...I don't see how!) and vacuuming and a bit of baking for the school Christmas market. I should be back on my regular schedule after next week and I'll be here more.
