That is all awful. I'm sorry she has been through all of that. I think it is clear that she is not just looking for attention.

Thanks. Yeah, she isn't the type of kid to break her foot repeatedly for attention. I'm hard pressed to imagine anyone breaking their own bones for attention, can't wrap my brain around that. Know their are some whacked out people but you have to be pretty disturbed.

Which is why I have a Surface and carry a purse two days a week. Backpacks in college are the worst.

I cleaned mine out because I just take a purse to take my finals and the next time I'll need my backpack will be to go on vacation. It was a wonderful feeling to completely empty out all the semester's carp.
sadly, during my time in the university, there were no reasonable priced super portable laptops.
They were all 2Kg+

I have no idea what his plan is. With my mom's help we were going to offer a pretty large payout just to get the divorce done quickly but his attitude didn't change plus he demanded Right of First Refusal which is if the custodial parent is unavailable to care for the child, the other parent gets first opportunity to care for the child. He wanted the time limit to be 3 hours which is ridiculous and most judges would make it overnight. He also balked at the child support stipulation we added that said if either parent decided to go to court for child support that parent would be responsible for the other's attorney fees. The fact that it's a problem for him indicates he was going to take our money and turn right around to take me to court for child support. So a payout is no longer on the table.

My lawyer wants him out as much as I do, so we served him with a 60-day eviction notice last week. If he's not out by then we obtain an unlawful detainer and then the sheriff will make him move out. Hopefully he'll get smart and leave voluntarily, though.
wowww.. talk about toxic!!

What I brought home from school daily vs what came home with my kids was ridiculously different and just kept mounting. Their literature book alone was massive. Eventually the size and weight of books also came into play when picking new curriculum. Text that came also with online for home usage is a big plus. We have not but many of both the elementary school districts along with high schools have gone to issuing students an ipad and all their text books loaded, no real books. It is also a great solution when kids are out ill. iPads come home every night and teachers can just copy paste homework to student email. While my DD was at her University about half of her text books were loaded to her iPad that she chose over her laptop. The cost is about the same to the district but you are not dealing with lost or damaged books or the weight of them. Give it 5 years and I hope it is the norm.
I think the biggest annoyance was.. how these expensive books.. only ended being used 4-5 times.
But were enforced by the school to be bought.
Thanks god some books I had were recycled from my sister or from high school.

Tell her you will pick up the pizza on the way. Call ahead to the pizza place a little before you arrive. I agree. The less possibilities for stress the better.

I spent the day at my folks. Plumbing issues. My Dad wont fess up to what he attempted to do. I brought my friend, a plumber with. Then he left after calling a special rotting plumber. Now that that has been resolved he still has to go back and fix the other damage my 87 year old dad caused. I saw a stream of water floating down the middle of a room on Thanksgiving night. Not good. They so need to move into a condo or a retirement village. They're gone'a kill me yet.

might try the one at MAMA MELROSE's.
DTD is going to be packed for sure.

Woah jeebus!.. they are very expensive on amazon!
29.99 being the average price!

Woof!
The last Christmas season I worked at The Disney Store in '12, I believe the most expensive ornament we had was about $10.50.
Even at those prices (I think the most expensive we had when I started working there four years previous was about $6.50), they would be picked clean quickly. Even though most guests knew the price would go down a few times before Christmas (to half price, or less), they also knew their favorites would be long gone by then.
