Help me with this... They're going to shut off the power to avoid losing power? Wouldn't that just make the path of misery wider? I'm confused. Wouldn't the damage be the same if a storm went through, except that they eliminated the chance that there might not be damage and created the results of damage in advance? o_O

Sorry for your pain, hope the meds can keep you somewhat comfortable. So glad the surgery went well!

Hubby has been a utility engineer for 38 years. He said it's for public safety. So people don't go out and get into a hot line. @Goofyernmost

(A truck driver of a tandem, tipped over this morning on the highway, prior to 6 a.m., in a torrential downpour, blocking a few lanes. Rescue crews worked for 2 hours to free the driver from the wreck; he was pronounced DOA when he arrived at the hospital; he was 52 years old. Tragic :(. That's how bad the roads were flooding, causing hydroplaning and multiple accidents all over this morning, and some later on today as well.)

(BIG eyeroll) What's the difference if it were an adult event for Disney fanatics? Absolutely nothing except one group would be wearing wizards robes and the other group would have their Mickey ears on.

We always made holly wreath cookies at Christmas with cornflakes, melted marshmallows and green food coloring with red hots in the center....was one of my favorite things at Christmas time. Marshmallows here are different and they don't melt well, plus they are pink, so if you try to add green food coloring (which they also don't have here, but I still had some from back home) they turn a sick color. I've been seriously thinking that in a few years, I want to go to Disney at Christmas time. The kids have about 2 weeks at Christmas, so that would be good.

We only went to Disney once, during the Holidays. Our grandson was three. Special memories!
