Have you ever piped green icing on sugar cones to make Christmas trees? We then use red hots, sprinkles, etc., as the decorations.

My boys did that in school when they were little and they also made graham cracker gingerbread houses. I miss getting them

Really. I only wear mouse ears while at Disney and the robe and hat are only for Halloween. I refuse to wear them in Florida in summer. I love the heat, but I'm not completely crazy! Only partially

I haven't, but then, I've never seen sugar cones here in the grocery store. I looked everywhere for them when DD wanted a castle cake for her birthday one year. The only cones I found were the little square ones that are in the picture. Ice Cream shops have the sugar cones, but I've never seen them outside of an ice cream shop here. And no red hots, either. We always made holly wreath cookies at Christmas with cornflakes, melted marshmallows and green food coloring with red hots in the center....was one of my favorite things at Christmas time. Marshmallows here are different and they don't melt well, plus they are pink, so if you try to add green food coloring (which they also don't have here, but I still had some from back home) they turn a sick color. I've been seriously thinking that in a few years, I want to go to Disney at Christmas time. The kids have about 2 weeks at Christmas, so that would be good.

Thank you as of now it's looking like it's going to go south of me or out to sea. South is still bad for the rain but less wind, out to sea would be best for all of us!

I won't be on this weekend. I'm headed for a girl's weekend with some Twilight fandom friends. (Yes, my interests are many and varied.) I'll be back Sunday afternoon. I'm really excited, though a bit nervous about taking the train by myself. I really don't like traveling alone, but it's only a couple of hours and then I meet up with one of the girls on the way. Leaving tomorrow after I take the kids to school...hubby gets to do kid duty for a weekend.

IMO Candy Corn is a candy that is best picked off. Every once in a while I try Candy Corn again. Same, I always regret putting it in my mouth. To me it is just nasty.

And yet, it's tradition . . . We must have some every Halloween.

Yesterday I just buyed my mother a new pair of headphones. It was an early birthday present since she will be turning 60 next Monday.

Gonna get some hurricane prep done tomorrow just in case Joaquin decides to keep on its projected track Monday. Woooohoo.

knock on wood but RI hasn't had a direct hit by a hurricane since 92. Superstorm Sandy or Hurricane Sandy...whatever dumb@$$ name they call it was a clear sky wind event for us.

A cat-3 hasn't hit us since 54 I think. Which is ironic my brother just got done with his project about Rocky Point because the park got demolished after the hurricanes of 38 and 54, enough where they closed down for a decade after 38 and a few years after 54.
