Good morning, everyone! After 3 quotes for the right tree, I would say we have a winner!
In the "I saw that coming", DD's dance team will be wearing false eyelashes for competitions this year. Some of the moms seem pretty upset. The poor coach they put in charge of breaking the news was all "Don't worry, we'll have a fake eyelash class." I have enough trouble getting my daughter to put on the mascara. Ought to be fun...:banghead:

Help me with this... They're going to shut off the power to avoid losing power? Wouldn't that just make the path of misery wider? I'm confused. Wouldn't the damage be the same if a storm went through, except that they eliminated the chance that there might not be damage and created the results of damage in advance? o_O
It's to avoid live downed wires. It will only be done if the winds hit a speed. It will supposedly help get power back up sooner as they won't be running around taking care of the live wires first.

I need my head examined. I read somewhere fennel seeds are good for digestion and act as a natural appetite suppressant. Long story short I've been eating some every day for the past few days and I'm not quite as hungry. I'm not sure if it's due to the seeds or having to brush my teeth more often as one always seems to get stuck somewhere between my teeth:confused: I'm not giving up on them just yet:hilarious:
Fennel bulbs will help you feel full, too. Although, they make my tummy feel terrible. Rosemary in food also helps as a natural apetite suppressant. If you don't add it already, it might work out in the sweet potato soup recipe.

Our school went from nothing that wasn't prepackaged, to no food treats, period. For your birthday, bring in pencils.
Here, they tell us to please not bring in favors because then the kids just sit and play with them. I suppose pencils might be different, but it's getting ridiculous with all the restrictions. You might as well not even celebrate your kid's birthday. This year, DS's birthday falls on the same day as the school Sinterklaas party. (Dutch Santa, who brings presents and candy/cookies, etc) so I don't know how to do his birthday this year. They will already be getting treats at school for Sinterklaas, so he won't be able to bring treats ON his birthday, and we've always done his party on the Wednesday around his birthday because Wednesdays are half days at school, so we have more time. But his birthday is ON Wednesday, which is the Sinterklaas party...I'm afraid it might be too much in one day.

It's Obama's fault. Well, the wife whatever her name is. She's the one who wants kids to eat healthy even though they won't learn to eat healthy if they don't have a choice. Even though your in Europe, the American affect goes everywhere.

I've seen pictures of school lunch and they're horrid.

I bought lunch in elementary school a couple times. Two words: pizza bagels.
Since the new school lunch guidelines went into effect, my son noticed a curious thing in his school cafeteria. They used to not have any soft drinks, not even in vending machines, where students can get them. You now can get a Diet soda in the line.o_O
